Chrishell Stause might not be the only one looking to leave Selling Sunset ahead of season 10 because now Emma Hernan is hinting at a possible departure.
During the Monday, December 1, episode of the “Untraditionally Lala” podcast, Emma, 33, was asked about her future on the hit Netflix series.
“I was basically done [after] season 8 and I came back to tell my side of the story,” she told Lala Kent before being asked her plans ahead of season 10. “I mean, I’m kind of … I’m tapped [out].”
Emma said she didn’t want to make an official statement.
“I’ll never say never. I don’t like when people say they’re not going to join the show and then they do. I’ve heard that so many times where people are like, ‘I’m never coming back.’ And they’re back every season,” she added. “A lot of people have done and said that — I’m not naming names.”
She continued: “I’ve actually never said it but I’m at a point where I’m really happy with my life. I love my family. I’ve been trying to spend more time with them. I enjoy being home with the family and I’ve been on the East Coast a lot this year, which has been really nice for me.”
Emma teasing an exit comes after Chrishell, 44, confirmed she wouldn’t be returning.
“I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially,” Chrishell told Bustle in an interview published in November. “I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.”
The reality star noted that she had no idea whether the show would return for more seasons.
“If they do continue, I wish them the best. If they do do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don’t know. But I have no ill will toward the show,” she added. “The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it, even though I’m leaving not in the way that I would’ve loved.”
Chrishell continued: “I think, after so many hours, I felt like, ‘Sit here, get through it. You’re not a quitter, but you never have to do this again.’”
Before her exit, Chrishell and Emma had a falling out over the latter’s controversial romance with Blake Davies.
“It felt like I was in a good place with everyone — I felt happy and strong about the real estate aspect,” Chrishell told Variety in October. “This tends to happen with this show. When you think you’re going to have a pretty easy season, without fail, those are the ones that end up being the hardest.”
Chrishell noted that she didn’t have any regrets about her time on Selling Sunset.
“I liked this season. I don’t think I had a hard season. It’s just the way it culminates with the reunion, and how everything landed,” she continued. “It’s interesting that I went into the season thinking everything was going to be easy. Never say those famous last words.”
Chrishell also hinted she had no desire to return.
“The reunion was so brutal. In that moment, I realized I will be done here going forward. I wish everyone the best, but this isn’t the place for me. It felt a little bit like a dog pile,” she added. “I don’t know when they will start filming. I hope they never tell me.”
Selling Sunset is currently streaming on Netflix.
