Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be returning to Netflix.

The couple will not be renewing the $100 million multiyear deal they signed with the streaming service in 2020 after it expires in September, a source confirms to Luxury Handbag Shopping.

“The decision was mutual,” the source says.

The U.K.’s The Sun was the first to report the news on Tuesday, July 22.

Luxury Handbag Shopping has reached out to Harry and Meghan’s team and Netflix for comment.

After signing their Netflix deal in 2020, the couple appeared in the Harry & Meghan docuseries, which premiered two years later. Harry, 40, was named as the executive producer on Netflix’s Polo docuseries, which was released in December 2024. The Duke of Sussex stayed mainly behind the camera, making a rare appearance on the show.

Meghan, meanwhile, starred in a lifestyle series titled With Love, Meghan, which premiered in March. The first eight episodes offered a look at the 43-year-old’s home life in Montecito, California. Harry and their two kids, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, were referenced multiple times throughout the show, but they weren’t featured.

Earlier this year, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos spoke candidly about working with Harry and Meghan.

“I think Meghan is underestimated in terms of her influence on culture. When we dropped the trailer for the Harry & Meghan doc series [in 2022], everything onscreen was dissected in the press for days,” he told Variety in March. “The shoes she was wearing sold out all over the world. The Hermès blanket that was on the chair behind her sold out everywhere in the world. People are fascinated with Meghan Markle.”

Sarandos, 60, said that he thinks Meghan and Harry are “overly dismissed” by the public.

“We’re a passive partner in Meghan’s company, and it’s a big discovery model for us right now,” he said, referring to her As Ever lifestyle brand, which launched alongside With Love, Meghan.

Meghan’s series was renewed for a second season, but details about its release have yet to be revealed. Production for season 2 has already wrapped.

Us confirmed in May that Chrissy Teigen will make an appearance. Gwyneth Paltrow has also expressed interest in a guest spot.

“Sure! Why not? You never know,” the actress told People during a May interview. “I don’t bake that well, but I can always try.”
