A new season of Selling Sunset has yet to start — but the drama’s already brewing.
Nicole Young, who will return in season 9 of the Netflix real estate reality series, took to TikTok on Sunday, August 17, to offer insight into the forthcoming reunion. (Season 9 will premiere on October 29; however, a date for the reunion has yet to be announced.)
Holding a bag of popcorn as she spoke candidly to fans, Young, 39, detailed filming the reunion earlier that day. “I will not be silenced,” she said after claiming that she wasn’t offered limited opportunity to give her perspective.
“I sit in my trailer so long that I watch four movies. … They finally bring me out to set, they sit me down and they want me to address one specific instance. So I do. And then, the moderator goes, ‘OK, thanks, Nicole. It was great to see you,’” Young recalled to her TikTok followers.
Young, who has been at war with Selling Sunset costar Chrishell Stause for several seasons, then shook her head as she fumed while looking off camera and crunching on a mouthful of popcorn.
“I really, just, never experienced a situation where it was so obvious that the intent was to not give me the opportunity to speak. Unreal,” Young said. “But you know what? Sometimes you just have to recognize things that no longer serve you. And this is one of them.”
Young then gave the camera two middle-finger salutes and a forced smile.
The reality star told Luxury Handbag Shopping in April that fans can expect a “messy” season when Selling Sunset returns to screens. She also teased a possible reason for the messiness that may involve an “awful” scene with Stause, 44.
“I guess the first scene we had together was pretty, absolutely awful,” Young told Us at the time, referring to what Stause had previously told Us was an “explosive” series return. “I don’t see [Chrishell] much, which is really a nice, positive thing.”
In Young’s TikTok post, she noted that despite Sunday’s filming experience, she is planning on staging her “own reunion.” She told the camera, “Unfortunately, I can’t give you those details until October 29 … but trust me, I will. I will not be silenced.”
Young also fumed within the post’s caption, which read, “Both sorry and also thank you for listening to me vent. Sometimes you just gotta voice your opinions and experiences to get it off your chest, otherwise that s*** festers deep down and I will not allow this bulls*** to affect my real life long term. But right now, I just feel UGHHHH!”
The stars’ ongoing feud began in season 6 of Selling Sunset, amid Young’s alleged jealousy over Stause’s real estate listings. Young also took issue with Stause’s qualifications and claimed that she received preferential treatment because of her relationship with the agents’ Oppenheim Group boss Jason Oppenheim.
Stause and Oppenheim, 48, ended a brief romance in December 2021 after the former split from ex-husband Justin Hartley in February 2021. She later married G Flip in a secret ceremony in May 2023.
