This is the first full week of 2026, and Netflix is keeping subscribers happy with a fresh lineup of movies that were recently added.
That’s why the first of the month is so exciting for Netflix fans, since it offers an intimate preview of what’s coming throughout the next 31 days.
To narrow things down, the Watch With Us team has selected three of Netflix’s most popular movies that you need to watch.
Our pick includes an action thriller, a true love story and a modern cult favorite film.
‘Man on Fire’ (2004)
Before going on to star in The Equalizer trilogy, Denzel Washington had an intense turn in the 2004 remake of Man on Fire. The late Tony Scott directed the film, which finds former CIA operative John W. Creasy (Washington) at the end of his rope. However, Creasy finds a new reason to live when he befriends Guadalupe “Lupita” Ramos (Dakota Fanning), the young girl he is hired to protect in Mexico.
Because Pita’s father, Samuel Ramos (Marc Anthony), is wealthy, she’s targeted for a kidnapping by criminals. The crooked Mexican law enforcement officers even try to pin the crime on Creasy. That was a huge mistake, as he’ll do anything to bring that little girl home, or to avenge her if the kidnappers dare to harm her.

‘Priscilla’ (2023)
Elvis has left the building, or more specifically, the King’s 2022 music biopic departed Netflix on December 31. In its place, the streamer has added Priscilla, director Sofia Coppola‘s biography of Elvis Presley‘s wife, Priscilla Presley. Alien: Romulus star Cailee Spaeny plays Priscilla Beaulieu from her teenage years to early adulthood opposite Frankenstein‘s Jacob Elordi, who portrays Elvis.
This film doesn’t overlook the fact that Elvis courted Priscilla when she was only 14 and he was 24. That remains one of the defining scandals of the King’s legacy. Over time, Elvis demonstrates that his affection for Priscilla isn’t fleeting, and they are married. Unfortunately for Priscilla, marriage to Elvis isn’t the happy ending she thought it would be. It’s a messy union at best, and it may end up becoming the thing that defines Priscilla’s life and legacy despite her attempt to move on.

‘Under the Silver Lake’ (2018)
Elvis’ granddaughter, Riley Keough, has a leading role in the mystery thriller Under the Silver Lake. Keough plays Sarah, an attractive woman who catches the eye of her neighbor, Sam (Andrew Garfield). After Sam briefly spends time with Sarah and begins bonding with her, he’s upset by her apparent decision to move out overnight.
At least that’s what Sam initially believes despite a strange symbol found in Sarah’s apartment. As Sam becomes convinced that Sarah has disappeared under suspicious circumstances, he convinces a bar buddy (Topher Grace) to help him find her. That’s an upward hill to climb since it’s possible that Sarah just moved out, and that Sam believes more in crazy conspiracy theories than Sarah not wanting to be with him.
