‘The Voice’ Sneak Peek: Meet the ‘Impressive’ Contestant Who Reminds Niall Horan of Taylor Swift (Exclusive)

One contestant on The Voice is reminding the coaches of pop music’s biggest stars.

In Luxury Handbag Shopping’s exclusive sneak peek of the Monday, October 6, episode of NBC’s singing competition series, viewers are introduced to New York resident Ava Nat.

As soon as she begins singing Gracie Abrams’ hit single “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” the 18-year-old grabs the attention of Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire.

“You had this ability — kind of like Gracie Abrams, Olivia Rodigo, Taylor [Swift] — where it’s like they are reading out of a journal,” Horan, 32, gushes. “That’s such a difficult thing to do, but it’s not difficult if you feel the lyrics, and you clearly connected with that song. I could tell by facing the wall.”

The former One Direction member adds, “That was very impressive.”

Horan, however, isn’t the only coach who wants to add Nat to their team as the blind auditions continue into week three.

“When I heard you singing, I could hear that you were young, but you were performing as if you were on Broadway,” Snoop, 53, shares in the preview. “The way that you walked into the lyrics. All of that is showwomanship and you had it. A lot of people don’t get that until they get further along in their career. It would be an honor to be your coach.”

Speaking of Broadway, McEntire, 70, was first to ask Nat if she had any experience in the theater world.

“I did take theater arts, but I love singer-songwriter pop,” Nat explains. “I also sing jazz.”

The musical genre quickly grabbed Michael Bublé’s attention from his seat. While he was the only coach not to turn his chair, it appears he has some regrets.

“I wish you sang jazz,” he says. “Your voice is so beautiful. I’m so glad these three incredible coaches turned for you. I just can’t wait to steal you.”

McEntire adds, “You did so well. Your voice was absolutely beautiful. It’s like butter. It’s just so smooth and clear.”

When it’s time for Nat to choose which team she wants to be on, she keeps the coaches guessing with her thought process.

“I wish I could be on all of your teams,” she shares, “but I think just based on the emotional connection to lyrics…”

This season, each coach is hoping to have the winning singer who will walk away with a priceless recording contract with Universal Music Group.

“Everybody better watch out. These other coaches don’t know what’s about to hit them because I’m ready to win this season,” McEntire proclaimed before the season kicked off on September 22. “It’s a fun show. You get to sit here and listen to great talent. I’m so honored that they asked me back.”

The Voice airs on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
