Sullivan’s Crossing may not be a huge hit on The CW, but it’s been blowing up on Netflix in July.
The first two seasons of this romantic drama have hit No. 1 on Netflix and viewers are treating it like a blockbuster.
It’s probably not a coincidence that Netflix is also the streaming home for two series that are very much like Sullivan’s Crossing. Prime Video also has a show that has a lot of similarities with this one.
If you like Sullivan’s Crossing, then these are the three shows that you need to watch now.
‘Virgin River’ (2019 – Present)
Sullivan’s Crossing fans are probably well aware of Virgin River. It’s only one of Netflix’s most popular shows, which was recently renewed for its eighth season. Alexandra Breckenridge stars as Melinda “Mel” Monroe, a nurse practitioner who escaped from her chaotic life in Los Angeles to Virgin River, CA, for a chance to start over as a midwife.
Unfortunately for Mel, she and her new employer, Vernon “Doc” Mullins (Tim Matheson), can’t seem to find much common ground. Mel has a little more luck when it comes to love, as she forms a bond with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), a former Marine who is dealing with trauma of his own. It takes a lot to bring Mel and Jack together, but part of the joy of this series is watching them work through their issues to come out stronger on the other side.
Virgin River is streaming on Netflix.
‘Hart of Dixie’ (2011 – 2015)
The O.C.‘s Rachel Bilson headlines Hart of Dixie as Zoe Hart, a New Yorker through and through. It’s partially Zoe’s fault that her dreams of practicing medicine in NYC are dashed. She has a lot to work on when it comes to her bedside manner. But she gets a second chance when the father she never knew offers her a chance to work at his clinic in Bluebell, Alabama.
However, Zoe’s father passes away before she can meet him, and she’s left with one half of a practice to maintain without much experience. Zoe also finds herself drawn into a love triangle between her neighbor, Wade Kinsella (Wilson Bethel), and George Tucker (Scott Porter), a man who is on the verge of marrying Zoe’s newfound rival, Lemon Breeland (Jaime King).

‘Wildfire’ (2005 – 2008)
Wildfire skews a little younger than the other two shows on this list, but it carries on the theme of starting over in a new town. Kristine “Kris” Furillo (Supernatural‘s Genevieve Cortese) is badly in need of a mulligan in her life after a stint in juvenile detention for grand theft auto. And she finds one at Raintree Farm, where Kris displays an affinity for horses that she didn’t know she had.
Kris becomes particularly close to a horse she calls Wildfire. Since she’s really the only one who can ride him, Kris goes on to become Wildfire’s jockey as he transforms into a champion racehorse. If only it were so easy for Kris to find love outside of the stable, but she’s got a few guys in and around Raintree who may be worthy of winning her heart.
