Kate Hudson celebrated her big night at the 2026 Oscars with mom Goldie Hawn by her side.

Hudson, 46, and Hawn, 80, posed for photos ahead of the Sunday, March 15, awards show at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. While Hudson rocked a shimmery green gown, Hawn complimented her daughter in a black dress.

Hudson is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Song Sung Blue. Other contenders in the category include Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value and Emma Stone for Bugonia.

This marks the second Academy Award nod of Hudson’s career after she was previously nominated for best supporting actress for Almost Famous in 2001.

Hudson has received support from her loved ones throughout her 2026 awards season run — including from fiancé Danny Fujikawa. The couple enjoyed date nights at the Golden Globes in January and the BAFTA Film Awards in February. However, Kate brought her brother Oliver Hudson as her plus one to SAG’s Actor Awards earlier this month.

Kate explained to Entertainment Tonight at the time that Oliver’s attendance was “impromptu.”

“Danny got, like, crazy sick,” she added, “and I was like, ‘Oliver, you need to be my date!’”

Given the “last-minute” nature of the invitation from his sister, Oliver, 49, ended up wearing a tuxedo that he initially bought for the 2007 premiere of his sitcom Rules of Engagement.

“It’s literally vintage Tom Ford because I’ve just had it for that long,” he quipped.

As for Kate and Fujikawa, the pair have been together since 2016. They welcomed daughter Rani Rose, 7, in October 2018 and announced their engagement in September 2021. (Kate also shares son Ryder, 22, with ex-husband Chris Robinson and son Bingham, 14, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy.)

In March 2025, Kate acknowledged that she has been engaged to Fujikawa “for so long” but confessed she is still not in a rush to make things official.

“I think [it’s been] three years,” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show at the time. “I just don’t have the same, kind of, like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m gonna get married and I can’t wait for the party.’ It’s the opposite that I’m like, ‘OK, I have to plan it and then it’s going to cost so much money,’ and it’s just a lot.”

Kate shared that she was willing to elope or perhaps never legally wed Fujikawa.

“I like the idea of being engaged forever,” she explained. “I love it, but then … I long for the gravy boat [off the wedding registry]. This is part of the dilemma. Also, though, the contractual thing is tough for me. I like my freedom.”

She continued: “I like the concept of freedom and so, this thing where you’re signing the government contract, to me, it’s just my own thing [because] I was raised by Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, who never signed the contract, and they’ve been engaged since I was 7.”
