Johnny Bananas and Dee Valladares’ showmance is rubbing one cast member the wrong way.
During the Wednesday, August 6, episode of The Challenge: Vets and New Threats, contestant Will Gagnon had a hard time seeing the MTV vet and Survivor winner getting cozy in between challenges.
“I’m single, but Dee and I used to hook up so it’s a little hard to see Bananas and Dee, but Dee and I were never dating,” Will shared. “It was more of a hook up situation so you got to move on. We’re not here for a love story. We’re here to win The Challenge.”
But as the cast headed out to dinner for food and drinks, Will’s words were put to the test as Johnny and Dee got a little too close for some people’s comfort.
“Usually showmances are a bad idea,” Johnny shared with his costar. “But I think this is a good idea.”
After Will saw some sparks fly, he got into a vehicle and started punching the back of a seat. When he got back home to the mansion, he confessed to also punching a wall.
“I punched the f*** out of the wall because my heart’s on my sleeve,” the Are You the One? alum said while revealing his bloody injury. “I hooked up with Dee. Now, Dee is with Johnny.”
During the episode, Dee appeared to be unbothered by Will’s behavior. Instead, she was focused on having fun with a Challenge veteran.
“Will is being a little bit aggressive and honestly I’m living for it,” she said. “I think it’s hilarious. I never said or did anything for Will to believe we are together. … I’m playing my own game. I got to make my own moves.”
Before the season kicked off on July 30, Johnny admitted that he may find himself in a showmance this season.
During an exclusive interview with Luxury Handbag Shopping, Johnny teased what fans can expect from him in season 41.
“[Dee] and I vibed right away,” he told Us on July 29. “It is not the first time I met her. We’d met previously at the finale party for season 40, and we kind of hit it off there. Then we have mutual friends. We kind of talked before about working together, and we were there, and then we showed up, and we were both kind of in the single situation.”
While Johnny wouldn’t spill too many details about where they stand today, he playfully teased: “More than friends. Less than lovers.”
