Jared Goff felt like the biggest man who ever lived after Taylor Swift mentioned his name on a podcast that millions of people listened to in the first 24 hours since it dropped.
The Detroit Lions quarterback said during an interview on Thursday, August 14, that his phone nearly exploded with messages after the “Bad Blood” singer name-dropped him on “New Heights” the night before.
“Yeah, pretty crazy, huh? Very cool, I guess,” Goff, 30, told reporters, per Sports Illustrated. “That was a crazy couple hours last night for me and my phone. I was like, ‘Oh, OK.’ But yeah, pretty cool.”
Swift was a very special guest on the Wednesday, August 13, episode of “New Heights,” which is cohosted by the singer’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce.
In the episode, the “Shake It Off” songstress, 35, spoke about her initial limited knowledge of the ins and outs of the NFL prior to meeting and subsequently dating Travis, also 35.

“I thought it was like, Jared Goff is here, and Josh Allen’s here,” Swift said. “They’re gonna be like, they blow a whistle, and they go at each other, and they’re like, ‘Grr,’ and it’s like, who’s gonna win?”
Swift also joked about the mixed reaction she’s received from “male sports fans” since she began dating Travis in summer 2023 and became a regular fixture at many of his games.

“As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast,” she said. “And I think we all know that if there’s one thing male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens — it’s more of me.”
During the long-requested and highly anticipated podcast episode, Swift also revealed the cover – and tracklist – of her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl. More than 13 million people tuned in to watch the episode on YouTube in the first 24 hours.
“It was something that I was working on while I was in Europe on the Eras Tour. I just love it. I just love it a lot,” Swift said of the record during the episode. “I love music.”
“Working on this, I was physically exhausted, at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating,” Swift said.
The Grammy winner explained that she teamed up with her “mentor” Max Martin and producer Shellback for the new record. They have previously collaborated on her hit songs such as “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Bad Blood” and “Blank Space.”
“We’ve made songs that I’m so proud of,” she added. “We’ve never made an album before where it’s just the three of us. It felt like catching lightning in a bottle, honestly.”
