Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts won’t be changing his phone background now that he won the Super Bowl.

The Eagles lost the NFL championship in 2023 to the Kansas City Chiefs, prompting Hurts, 26, to change his wallpaper to a somber snapshot of him walking off the field surrounded by red-and-yellow confetti. The tables turned Sunday, February 9, when Hurts led the Eagles to a 40-22 victory over the Chiefs in the big game.

“It’s, like, a little edge,” Hurts said on the Tuesday, February 11, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I guess people anticipate me to change it, [but] it’s just a wallpaper. It’s a humble reminder for me.”

He added, “It’s gonna remain. There’s no urgency to change it.”

According to Hurts, he’s not reliving the Super Bowl loss “every time” he opens his phone.

“I don’t just sit there and have this flashback of a moment,” he stated. “It’s not some psychotic thing or anything.”

Sunday’s victory was Hurts’ first time clinching the Lombardi Trophy. He celebrated the moment on the sidelines with a kiss from his fiancée, Bryonna “Bry” Burrows, surrounded by teal confetti.

“I’ve just been telling people I was trying to process it,” he recalled on Tuesday. “I think when you go into that, you don’t know how you’re going to feel. You watch, as a fan, sports and championship games and these iconic moments. You see the greats and how they handle it and their excitement and the rush of emotions. All I could think about was all the hard work [and] all the effort.”

Hurts continued, “To see my reflection on the chrome trophy in that mirror, it was a pretty good feeling.”

Hurts and his Eagles teammates continued celebrating in the locker room with cigars and music.

“We went into it and making it worth it and leaving it all on the table, no stone unturned,” Hurts recalled. “I think, for me, just being able to have that moment — I call that the moment of having happy feelings — of just listening to one of my favorite songs and smoking a good one.”

Hurts’ teammate Saquon Barkley, meanwhile, ended up shotgunning a beer with a few other members of the squad.

“I was going against my teammate there, Nick, and I think I lost that one,” Barkley, 28, told host Jimmy Fallon. “He beat me there. I came in, seeing everyone celebrating, partying. You know, back in my day, I did go to Penn State, so I had my party days.”
