Ann Michael Maye has been one of the breakout stars of the NFL Playoffs as her husband, quarterback Drake Maye, has guided the New England Patriots back to the Super Bowl.
Ann, 22, has been supporting Drake, 23, from the stands and on the field after games, including on Sunday, January 25, after the Patriots took down the Denver Broncos, 10-7, in the AFC championship game.
Though Drake drew some criticism for seeming distracted while Ann was trying to congratulate him, another angle of their postgame exchange, which the NFL shared via Instagram on Wednesday, January 28, shows just how wholesome the moment really was. It even got some fans comparing them to other NFL power couples, like Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, or Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
“This is so much better and wholesome than Mahomes and Brittany,” wrote one fan.
“This couple is better than the fake couple of KC,” another added, not specifying which couple they were referring to.
Yet another fan weighed in, just wanting commenters to be happy for all the NFL players and WAGs.
“Why people hate and compare couples is beyond me,” they wrote. “Who cares. They’ve been together since middle school, Brittany and Patrick High School, Travis and Taylor met all due to a friendship bracelet and Mama Kelce finding out, all great stories, all seem to love one another, that’s great ❤️ no need to compare.”
With the Patriots now headed to the Super Bowl, where they will face the Seattle Seahawks on February 8, all eyes will surely be on Drake and Ann on the sport’s biggest stage.
As New England has advanced in the playoffs, Ann’s profile has continued to grow, helped by the custom Drake Maye jacket she wore to the game against the Broncos. The custom bomber jacket was made from patches of her husband’s jersey, a Patriots hoodie and an illustrated photo of Drake. It also matched the jacket worn by Parker Henry, wife of Patriots tight end Hunter Henry.
But it’s not only her outlandish outfits that have endeared fans to her. On Wednesday, she posted a video via TikTok of herself wearing pajamas and getting ready to go on a walk in the snow.
The top comment came from one of New England’s most respected institutions, Dunkin’ Donuts.
“QUEEN OF THE NORTH FR👏👏👏,” the brand wrote.
Fans, meanwhile, were quick to draw comparisons to Gisele Bündchen, who was married to former quarterback Tom Brady during Brady’s run with the Patriots.
“Gisele never wanted us to get ready with her,” wrote a commenter.
“Giselle never took us for walks,” said another.
Ann hasn’t responded to those posts specifically, but she has addressed the hate that Bündchen, 45, gets in her comments.
“It’s always ‘Gisele could never, Gisele would never,’” she told Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy in a video shared via social media on January 12. “She’s pretty good, guys. It’s OK.”
She was also appreciative of the numerous fans who flood her comments with support.
“They’re great. Everybody’s got to give them a scroll,” she said. “They’re so funny … No one’s mean … It’s always like, ‘Tuck my husband, tuck our husband into bed tonight.’ Alright, guys, I am!”
