For those TV fans who want some new Halloween content, Tracker, Shifting Gears and NCIS are just some of the shows delivering tricks — and treats — this year.
CBS has several Halloween-themed episodes planned with Ghosts, NCIS, Elsbeth and Tracker. Luxury Handbag Shopping had the exclusive first look at Elsbeth’s themed episode, which showed Carrie Preston’s title character going head to head with Sharon (Annaleigh Ashford), who is described as a murderous suburban housewife.
“Elsbeth must separate trick from treat in Sleepy Hollow when a rivalry reaches a ghoulish climax on Halloween night after a suburban housewife butts heads with a new neighbor,” reads the official description. “Meanwhile, Captain Wagner makes a frightening discovery about his daughter.”
Ashford is the newest celebrity to book a guest star role on Elsbeth, which also features William Jackson Harper, Julia Fox and more.
“From the very beginning, we have worked hard to make Elsbeth a show on which all the best actors will want to appear,” showrunner Jonathan Tolins shared in a statement ahead of the season 3 premiere. “Our streak continues as we welcome Annaleigh Ashford and William Jackson Harper to our panoply of brilliant guest stars matching wits with the incredible Carrie Preston.”
Meanwhile over on ABC, High Potential, Shifting Gears and Abbott Elementary are getting into the spooky season with their own episodes. Keep scrolling for every new Halloween-themed episode on TV this year:
‘High Potential’
According to the official synopsis, the team “investigates a spooky case where a wealthy lawyer is found dead in his haunted Victorian mansion.” Steve Howey‘s character Captain Wagner “surprises everyone with his skills” while Eliott plays mediator between Morgan and Ava at home.
‘Shifting Gears’
ABC’s sitcom will follow Matt (Tim Allen) as he “plans to spend Halloween with Eve, but the real terror begins when Eve wants to sleep over.” The episode will also show Carter (Maxwell Simkins) and Georgia (Barrett Margolis) out for the night as Kat Dennings’ Riley “invites Gabe and Stitch to a Halloween party, hoping to relive the crazy, epic Halloweens of her past.”
‘Abbott Elementary’
To get into the Halloween season, Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) “organizes a Halloween camping trip for older kids” at the school on the ABC series.
‘Ghosts’
It wouldn’t be October without a spooky episode of Ghosts and this time around, Sam and Jay’s Halloween “takes a spooky turn when they accidentally unleash a mummy ghost.”
‘NCIS’
The team will be “forced to work with Special Agent Sawyer on a case that takes a terrifying turn” for Torres.
‘Elsbeth’
The titular character takes a trip to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a neighborhood rivalry that “takes a dangerous turn” on Halloween night.
‘Tracker’
Based on the synopsis, a nurse is murdered and an arsonist disappears from a psychiatric facility on Halloween, which Colter (Justin Hartley) looks into.
