Eagle-eyed fans noticed two familiar faces while watching the chaotic Halloween party on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
On season 2 of the hit ABC reality show, influencer Aspyn Ovard could be seen talking to Bachelor Nation’s Hakeem Moulton as a fight broke out. (Taylor Frankie Paul confronted Chase McWhorter about their past, but in a surprising twist her on and off boyfriend Dakota Mortensen chose Chase’s side.)
As costar Mayci Neeley told Taylor she should “deescalate” things, Hakeem appeared to be watching the interaction while chatting in a group. Hakeem rocked a blue tracksuit outfit complete with a white bucket hat and gold necklaces with the money sign, while Aspyn donned a white wedding dress.
Before the season aired, Aspyn — who divorced Parker Ferris in 2024 — admitted that she had one of her first intimate experiences with a girl after the Halloween party. (The pair, who were married for nine years, are parents to three children.)
“I went to this Halloween party and I was, like, dressed up as a bride. … It was an ironic costume. I was wearing my wedding ring,” Aspyn said on the Tuesday, May 13, episode of the “For the Girls With Becca Moore” podcast. “I got back from the party and she came over and I was still wearing the costume and we were, like, sitting on my couch. I was in Utah. … I was, like, sitting there, like, ‘OK, we are going to kiss.’ I was like, ‘Wait, I’m going to take off my wedding ring, and then I’m going to kiss you.’ It was funny because I was dressed as a bride.”
Aspyn went on to explain her connection to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives after being asked whether she was “involved” in the show.
“I’m not, like, involved with it. But I know all those girls,” she explained. “I wasn’t on the show, but I went to … that’s the party that I just said that I went to, that I was dressed as a bride.”
Hakeem, for his part, made headlines in 2024 with his reaction to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 1 trailer — which played during a live episode of The Bachelorette. (Hakeem vied for the affections of season 21 lead Jenn Tran, who ultimately ended the show engaged to Devin Strader. The pair split before the live portion of the finale.)
Hakeem has since struck up a friendship with the stars of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, including Demi Engemann and husband Bret Engemann. In April, Hakeem celebrated Easter with the couple and shared several snaps of the trio attending church together.
“Celebrated the resurrection with people who feel like home,” Hakeem wrote via Instagram at the time. “The love runs deep, the laughs are loud, and the bond is real. Grateful for this kind of family.”
