Brie Larson Wins the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama

Brie Larson won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama for her role in Room, at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards Sunday, January 10.

Larson beat out Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara for Carol, Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn and Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl. Vikander was also nominated for a Golden Globe this year for best supporting actress for her role in Ex Machina.

The 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, and the show was hosted for the fourth time by Ricky Gervais.
