The major streamers were overloaded with new shows to watch last weekend, and it was almost too much content.

Fortunately, this weekend is settling down into a much easier-to-digest pace, with Beef season 2 on Netflix and Margo’s Got Money Troubles with Elle Fanning on Apple TV.

The new animated series on Disney+, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, was briefly lost in the shadow of so many shows earlier this month, but it looks very intriguing.

All of those series are part of Watch With Us‘ roundup of the best new shows to watch this April 18-19 weekend.

The title of Beef season 2 may be a misnomer, because there are multiple beefs this season, including the one between the primary couple, Josh (Oscar Isaac) and Lindsay (Carey Mulligan). Their marriage is on the rocks despite the unified front they put forward together.

When Ashley (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin (Charles Melton) witness and record an ugly fight between Josh and Lindsay, they blackmail the older couple into giving Ashley a promotion and Austin a leg up at the resort where they work. That leads to a feud between the two couples, and it’s going to be almost as ugly as the one Lindsay has with her husband.

Beef season 2 is streaming on Netflix.

Margo Millet (Elle Fanning) had her whole life in front of her in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, at least until she became pregnant during an affair with her professor. If anyone can relate to Margo’s plight, it’s her mother, Shyanne Millet (Michelle Pfeiffer), and father, Jinx Millet (Nick Offerman). They had Margo long before they were ready to become parents.

To dig herself out of a financial hole and to provide for her child, Margo becomes a rising star on OnlyFans. That’s money that Margo sorely needs, but it may also cost her custody of her child when the baby’s father uses Margo’s online sex work to smear her reputation.

Maul (Sam Witwer) may no longer be a dark lord of the Sith, but he’s pretty far from being the good guy in Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Following the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Maul has lost everything, but it’s not the first time he’s had to rebuild his criminal empire.

As formidable as Maul is by himself, even he can only do so much to the Empire that now rules the galaxy in the name of his former master, The Emperor. That’s why Maul is so eager to take on an apprentice, and he thinks former Jedi Devon Izara (Gideon Adlon) is ripe for his corruption. But she may prove to be stronger than Maul initially suspects.

Rue Bennett (Zendaya) clearly didn’t get anything resembling a happily ever after between Euphoria seasons 2 and 3. If anything, it seems like Rue is in more trouble than ever before, and she can’t fall back on her youth to get out of a jam. Rue is an adult now, and that means making big compromises just to get through another day.

Comparatively, Nathan Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) and Cassandra Howard (Sydney Sweeney) have it easy after marrying each other out of high school. But even this couple will have a hard time staying together once the new season fully arrives.

Euphoria season 3 is streaming on HBO Max.

Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) discovered the secret to happiness in the two decades since Malcolm in the Middle came to an end. All he had to do was stay as far away from his family as possible. That’s a solution that was only destined to last until the reunion show, and it’s here.

In Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, Malcolm’s family is understandably angry that he never told them he has a daughter, Leah (Keeley Karsten), or a girlfriend, Tristan (Kiana Madeira). But now that the 40th anniversary of Malcolm’s parents, Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek), has arrived, their special brand of chaos has reentered his life.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair is streaming on Hulu.
