It’s going to take a lot for the horror movies of 2026 to match last year’s epic films like Weapons and the Oscar-nominated Sinners.

In the meantime, horror fans can enjoy most of the best horror movies of 2025, including the recent release Black Phone 2.

Final Destination Bloodlines was another 2025 flick that didn’t get all of the love it deserved for updating that franchise, so we’re spotlighting it here.

Both of those films have earned their place among the Watch With Us team’s must-watch horror movies to stream right now.

The Black Phone taught young Finney Blake (Mason Thames) that there’s life after death, so he should have known that the Grabber (Ethan Hawke) would only get more powerful in the afterlife. Black Phone 2 picks up a few years later, as Finney, his sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), and their friend Ernesto (Miguel Mora) discover that the Grabber’s spirit is haunting Alpine Lake camp.

To put an end to the Grabber’s reign from beyond the grave, the three children travel to the camp to learn more about the murders he committed there. Unfortunately for the kids, they’ve also come to the place where the Grabber is at the peak of his powers. He may be dead, but that doesn’t mean he can’t kill them.

The late Tony Todd had one last appearance in Final Destination Bloodlines as his character, William Bludworth, tied the whole franchise together. It’s a great cameo to send off a horror legend, but the new story is about Stefani Reyes (Kaitlyn Santa Juana). In her dreams, Stefani sees an incident from decades earlier in which her grandmother, Iris (Brec Bassinger), saved dozens of people who would have otherwise died.

In the present, death is catching up to all of those people and their descendants. Stefani can see death’s design, but if she can’t get her extended family to believe her, then they may all precede her on their way to the grave.

Final Destination Bloodlines is streaming on HBO Max.

You may think you know the story of Frankenstein, but most of the other films based on Mary Shelley‘s seminal novel are basically the CliffsNotes. Unlike some other directors, Guillermo del Toro didn’t skimp on the details. He also had a large budget and an even larger runtime to play with.

Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac) is a brilliant man who just can’t leave his wildest ideas to the realm of theory. He assembles a patchwork man from various bodies and brings it to life as the Creature (Jacob Elordi). That’s the beginning of Frankenstein’s downfall. The Creature may not be inherently evil, but he doesn’t belong among humanity and their rejection of him may create a real monster.

There’s a reason why writer and director Zach Cregger is blowing up in Hollywood. Between Barbarian and Weapons, the Whitest Kids U’Know cofounder has turned out to have a real gift for making scary horror movies. Weapons has a particularly enticing mystery that doesn’t necessarily unfold chronologically, but it gives out just enough info to keep you hooked until the answers arrive.

The small town of Maybrook, Pennsylvania, is rocked by the sudden disappearance of 17 children who ran away from home at exactly 2:17 a.m. Their teacher, Justine Gandy (Julia Garner), becomes a pariah as she tries to figure out why a boy named Alex (Cary Christopher) was her only student who didn’t run away. Josh Brolin plays Archer, the father of one of the missing kids. His investigation proves to be more effective than the local police’s efforts, but there’s something far beyond his reckoning at the end of his search.

Weapons is streaming on HBO Max.

That spawned a younger and more beautiful version of herself that she has to share her mind with, and they have to switch places once a week.

Unfortunately for Elizabeth, Sue’s willingness to break that arrangement causes a horrifying transformation. There’s only room at the top for one, and Sue’s willing to do anything to make sure it’s her.

You’ll never look at stay-cations the same way again after Stay. This isn’t a tale about a vacation gone wrong; it’s about the end of a marriage. Kiara (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and Miles (Mo McRae) once had a passionate love for each other. Now, they want to go their separate ways.

And they would, if the house would let them outside. Something supernatural is forcing the former couple to remain in their home, and no amount of pleading will change anything. Now, Miles and Kiara have to reexamine what brought them to this point, because the only way they’ll ever get out is together.

The Monkey has four great performances by two actors who are playing twin brothers at two different points in their lives. Christian Convery portrays Hal and Bill Shelburn as children, while Theo James takes over the roles when the Shelburn brothers reach adulthood.

In this Stephen King adaptation, Hal and Bill discover a cursed wind-up monkey that murders someone whenever it’s used. The monkey doesn’t take requests for its victims and makes life a living hell for the brothers. Decades later, Bill tells Hal that the monkey has resurfaced in their childhood home, and it’s leaving a string of bodies in its wake. That forces Hal to confront his past and his strained relationship with Bill.

Ethan Hawke makes the ’70s super creepy in The Black Phone. Hawke plays a child murderer nicknamed The Grabber, and he preys on helpless kids. A boy named Finney (Mason Thames) is The Grabber’s latest victim, and he discovers that this killer loves to torment his abductees before slaying them.

Universal’s latest reboot of The Wolf Man features Christopher Abbott in the lead as a writer named Blake Lovell. Unlike some previous incarnations, Wolf Man starts with Blake as a normal family man with a wife, Charlotte (Julia Garner), and a daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth). Blake’s life didn’t even have a whiff of the supernatural, save for a glimpse of a werewolf when he was a child three decades ago.

After returning to his hometown following the death of his father, Grady (Sam Jaeger), Blake and his family are attacked by a werewolf that injures him. It’s all Blake can do to keep Charlotte and Ginger out of the creature’s grasp, even as his own transformation into a werewolf appears to be inevitable.

Talk to Me is an indie horror flick that finds some new ground in the genre. A group of young adults has come across an embalmed hand with a direct line to the spirit world. Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian) would practically sell his soul for ratings in Late Night with the Devil, and in a way, he already has. In 1977, Jack is the host of his own talk show, and he’s got a very spooky Halloween theme going with some special guests, including a parapsychologist, June Ross-Mitchell (Laura Gordon), and her patient, Lilly D’Abo (Ingrid Torelli).

While Jack doesn’t necessarily believe in the idea that Lilly is possessed by something evil, she’ll eventually make a believer out of everyone. By exploiting her, Jack has unintentionally put the lives of his guests on the line and perhaps even his own. And this demon is just getting started.

The original Nosferatu was a silent film that shamelessly ripped off Dracula. Robert Eggers’ remake of Nosferatu plays up the connections even further with an even more unsettling take on Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård), a vampire whose hideous true form doesn’t conform to the more popular romantic incarnations of the undead.

In the 19th century, Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp) inadvertently linked herself to Orlok when she was a child. Now that Ellen is an adult, Orlok fully intends to claim her as his own, regardless of her wishes or those of her husband, Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult).

Orlok has a way of bending humans to his will, and Ellen’s mind and desires are an open book to him. Albin Eberhart von Franz (Willem Dafoe) may be Ellen’s only hope of escape, and even his knowledge may not be enough to thwart Orlok’s plans.

Nosferatu is streaming on Peacock.
