Ashlee Simpson is returning to the stage!
Simpson, 40, announced on Tuesday, June 3, that she will perform on August 29 and 30 at the Venetian resort in Las Vegas. Her two-night performance over Labor Day weekend, which is titled “I Am Me,” comes on the 20th anniversary of her second album of the same name.
The singer is expected to perform some of her early 2000s pop-punk classics like “Pieces of Me,” “La La” and “Boyfriend” inside the intimate 1,000-seat Voltaire venue.
“I’m so excited to take the stage in such a stunning space like Voltaire and have the opportunity to perform up close and personal with my fans,” she said in a press release. “We’re working so hard to make this show feel personal and special, so I can’t wait to share this experience and connect with the audience in such a perfect setting.”
Simpson emerged onto the music scene with her debut album, “Autobiography,” in 2004, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. She released an album in 2008, “Bittersweet World.” Simpson and her husband, Evan Ross, dropped an EP in 2018 titled “Ashlee + Evan” pegged to their reality TV docuseries of the same name, four years after tying the knot.
To cement her legacy beyond pop music and to show her versatility, Simpson ventured into theater for a bit. In 2006, she performed as Roxie Hart in Chicago in the West End. She reprised the role in 2009 on Broadway. On the screen, Simpson played Cecilia Smith on 7th Heaven, Violet Foster on the Melrose Place reboot, Kate in the QVC+ movie The Recipe Files and Theresa in Pawn Shop Chronicles, to name a few.
Tickets for Simpson’s “I Am Me” performances start at $65 and can be purchased at voltairelv.com. Doors will open at 9 p.m. for both shows.
