Flying Ange! Angelina Jolie takes to the skies in the new Maleficent trailer, where she plays the role of the wicked, and hauntingly beautiful witch for the live-action of the Disney 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty.
Jolie, 38, spreads her black wings in the latest clip, explaining why she doesn’t fly like the rest of the fairies. “I had wings once. They were strong,” she says.
Maleficent soars through the sky, and swiftly lashes her wings at people below as she makes her way to the ground. “They were stolen from me.”
Previous Maleficent trailers have included Jolie terrorizing Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, and a clip featuring a haunting rendition of “Once Upon a Dream” by Lana Del Rey.
On March 14, Disney also released a new still for the live reboot thriller, with Jolie dressed in her intimidating black costume next to her real-life daughter Vivienne Pitt, 5, who is set to appear as young Princess Aurora.
Maleficent hits theaters in May 2014.
