As fans debate Huda Mustafa’s appearance on Love Island USA, one fellow reality TV personality knows which program might have been a better fit.

“Huda, you should have [gone] on Love Is Blind,” Alexandra Byrd, who appeared on season 7 of the Netflix hit, said in a Tuesday, June 17, TikTok video. “You’re on the wrong show. Falling in love with a man after a week of knowing them? You would have fit right in. We would have accepted you with open arms.”

Alex, 33, got engaged to Tim Godbee sight unseen during the Love Is Blind pod experiment. They ultimately split several days later after an off-camera argument. Huda, 24, meanwhile, is a current cast member on season 7 of Peacock’s Love Island USA.

Huda, who wasted no time telling some of her castmates that she is a single mother, quickly set her sights on fellow OG contestant Jeremiah Brown. He recently chose to couple up with bombshell Iris Kendall, leaving Huda single.

“As a fellow anxious-attachment girlie, I understand,” Alex added in her social media video. “This is Love Island [and] this is not Love Is Blind. Y’all are not getting married. Hell, he don’t even know if he wants to be your kid’s future stepfather. He would have gotten a lot of s*** if he said that on Love Is Blind, but not Love Island — Love Island, this isn’t for that.”

While Huda is still searching for love in the Fiji villa, her ex-partner recently defended her Love Island stint.

“At the end of the day, I hope everyone remembers we’re human,” Noah Sheline, who shares 4-year-old daughter Arleigh with Huda, wrote in a social media statement earlier this week. “Her going on that show to find love, or whatever you think it was she’s doing, remember she’s still human, she has a daughter, and a life.”

He continued, “She’s maybe not doing a great job idk I don’t watch the show, but I don’t like that I’m seeing so much negative s*** on my page or even clips of it about her. It’s not my job to police her or the people in my comments, but I will say what you guys do will affect her mental health and my daughter’s maybe in the future.”

Noah further stressed that he wishes the best for Huda moving forward.

“It’s crazy I have to involve myself in this, but I don’t want my daughter’s mom to get out and see this and her mental health goes down a hill,” Noah said in his Instagram Story statement. “For people who have been respectful and nice and defending her as a mother, thank you! She tries just as much as any other young parent in this world.”

New episodes of Love Island USA are released six days a week — except for Wednesdays — on Peacock.
