With intense focus being placed on his football future, Aaron Rodgers is more concerned about his personal life.
Rodgers, 41, is a free agent for the first time in his NFL career after the quarterback and the New York Jets parted ways in February following two tumultuous seasons. But the future Hall of Famer has managed to block out the noise surrounding chatter about what comes next.
“I’m in a different phase of my life,” Rodgers said on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show during a Thursday, April 17 video call from his home in Malibu. “I’m 41 years old. I’m in a serious relationship. I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention. I have personal commitments not knowing what my future was going to look like after last year that are important to me.”
Rodgers — who has previously dated Shailene Woodley, Olivia Munn and Danica Patrick — revealed he was dating a woman named Brittani during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in December 2024.
“I have a couple of people in my inner circle who are really battling some difficult stuff,” Rodgers continued on Thursday. “I have a lot of things that are taking my attention and have, beginning in January, away from football. That’s been where I’ve been focusing most of my attention.”

McAfee, 37, hinted that he and Rodgers had spoken off-air about the specific issues Rodgers was referencing. But Rodgers balked when McAfee pressed him to reveal some details to help the public better understand what he was dealing with.
“They don’t need [to know],” Rodgers said. “My personal life is my personal life. There’s a sensitivity to some of the stuff that’s going on, for sure. It’s very important to me.”
As for his potential path forward in the NFL, Rodgers called many of the narratives surrounding him this offseason “bulls***.”
“To make a commitment to a team is a big thing, whether you’re a first-year player or a 20-year [veteran]. I had a lot of great conversations with a lot of teams,” he said. “Not one of those was the Jets, because that wasn’t a great conversation. But I’ve had some good conversations. I’ve been up-front with all of them.”
Rodgers added, “I’m not out there putting s*** out just to put s*** out. That’s just not how I operate. There’s been a lot of people assuming they have information about me that’s just not true. I’ve been straight-up with these teams from the start about where I was at.”
