‘How to Train Your Dragon’ (2025) — Netflix
The story of Hiccup and Toothless gets the live-action treatment in How to Train Your Dragon, starring Regretting You‘s Mason Thames as Hiccup, who defies Viking tradition by befriending a deadly Night Fury dragon. Despite having been bitter rivals for centuries, this unlikely pairing ends up being the key to saving the isle of Berk from an ancient threat that emerges with grave consequences for both humans and dragons. Together, Toothless and Hiccup must bridge the divide between the two species and engender lasting peace.
While live-action remakes of animated films can seem exhausting, at least How to Train Your Dragon has the decency to be a genuinely good film. Faithful to the original while featuring terrific performances and breathtaking special effects, this version of How to Train Your Dragon manages to craft a new experience out of something familiar.
Stream How to Train Your Dragon on Netflix on February 10.
‘How to Get to Heaven From Belfast’ Season 1 — Netflix
While we might not be getting more seasons of Derry Girls, at least we can get another show from creator Lisa McGee. McGee returns to Netflix with How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, an Irish comedy-drama about three childhood friends — Saoirse (Roisin Gallagher), Robyn (Sinéad Keenan) and Dara (Caoilfhionn Dunne) — who reunite in the wake of the death of their fourth member, Greta. But mysterious circumstances compel the trio to investigate their friend’s fate, which in turn unearths complicated secrets from their pasts.
How to Get to Heaven From Belfast has already been praised by critics as a hilarious dark comedy that deftly blends humor, horror, mystery and gripping emotional stakes. If you watched Derry Girls, you know that McGee is a master at weaving in different tones seamlessly into her narrative, and How to Get to Heaven from Belfast builds on her strengths while offering something totally new.

‘The ‘Burbs’ Season 1 — Peacock
Based on the Tom Hanks black comedy of the same name from 1989, The ‘Burbs stars Keke Palmer as Samira Fisher, a young wife and mother who moves to the childhood home of her husband, Rob (Jack Whitehall). But their peaceful, suburban life is interrupted when a mysterious new neighbor moves into the creepy Victorian home across the street. Learning about the lore associated with the house and home with nothing to do on maternity leave, Samira bands together with other people in her cul-de-sac to investigate who their new neighbors really are.
The ‘Burbs has been deemed a fun, thrilling re-imagining of a cult classic that also manages to thoughtfully comment on race in a setting — the suburbs — that is historically geared towards white people. While The ‘Burbs bears obvious influence from the original, it also very quickly finds its own voice, with fun humor, an engaging mystery story and superb lead performance from Palmer.

‘Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette’ — Hulu
The Devil works hard, but Ryan Murphy works harder. Nearly a month after the premiere of The Beauty, and with multiple series from 2025 in the immediate rearview, Murphy has yet another show set to debut on Hulu this week. The sub-series of his ongoing American Story anthology series is called Love Story and charts the whirlwind romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Newcomers Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Kelly portray Bessette and Kennedy, respectively.
This nine-part series has been high on our radar for a few months now, and it will be interesting to see how the tragic story of Bessette and Kennedy is transposed to the typically maximalist form of Murphy content. The supporting cast features Naomi Watts as Jackie Kennedy, Grace Gummer as JFK Jr.’s older sister, Caroline and Alessandro Nivola as Calvin Klein.
Stream Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette on Hulu on February 12.
‘Love Is Blind’ Season 10 — Netflix
The popular Netflix reality dating series returns for its tenth season, and we couldn’t be more excited. The ambitious premise involves single men and women looking for love who get engaged before they’ve ever even met their partner in person. For ten days, couples date each other in rooms where they can only talk to one another, not see each other, and they can only meet face-to-face after a proposal is offered. After the couple becomes engaged, they head to a couples’ retreat for one week, and then an apartment complex for three weeks — with marriage as the end point. But contestants can opt out of their matrimony at the altar.
Love Is Blind is so popular because it combines high-stakes dating drama with a truly unique social experiment angle to see whether love really is blind. The series is incredibly binge-worthy, infused with the perfect amount of human emotion, chaos, and meaningless melodrama, while also having a genuinely fascinating psychological element to it in the premise and how contestants engage with it. We can’t wait for what season 10 has in store.
Stream Love Is Blind season 10 on Netflix on February 11.
