Want to get into the holiday cheer? Prime Video is providing the virtual presents this month with a stacked lineup of films, including some of 2025’s top hits.
There’s even a late-month movie drop on December 30, but we won’t make you wait that long for some fresh recommendations.
Watch With Us has selected the three new Prime Video movies to watch in December 2025, as ranked by IMDb.
Our picks include a wildly popular video game adaptation, a thriller and the rom-com to end all rom-coms.
3. ‘A Minecraft Movie’ (2025)
A Minecraft Movie is far from the best film of the year, but it’s definitely one of the biggest hits and is entertaining enough to warrant a watch. Jack Black leads the cast as Steve, an unremarkable man on Earth who discovers a passage to the Overworld where he can create almost anything at will. Steve almost has it all, until he gives up his passage back to Earth to protect the Overworld from Malgosha (Rachel House) and her army from the Nether.
Years later, siblings Natalie (Emma Myers) and Henry (Sebastian Hansen) find themselves drawn to the Overworld alongside a pair of strangers, Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks). Steve is freed from his imprisonment by Malgosha and blackmailed into betraying the newcomers so she can complete her conquest. However, Steve has other ideas, and these strangers may be the friends he needs to protect the Overworld from Malgosha’s evil.
A Minecraft Movie will stream on Prime Video on December 22.
2. ‘Out of Time’ (2003)
Out of Time is a thriller that reunites star Denzel Washington with Carl Franklin, the director of one of Washington’s other underrated films, Devil in a Blue Dress. In this movie, Washington plays Matt Lee Whitlock, the chief of police of a small town in Florida. Matt is also going through a divorce from one of his detectives, Alex Diaz-Whitlock (Eva Mendes), while having an affair with Ann Merai-Harrison (Sanaa Lathan), the wife of an ex-professional quarterback, Chris Harrison (Dean Cain).
Matt’s personal life is a mess, but he’s so devoted to Ann that he steals money from his evidence locker to pay for her cancer treatment. That was Matt’s biggest mistake, because he soon realizes he’s been conned. Were Ann and Chris in on it together? Matt doesn’t have much time to figure it out because once Alex and his police colleagues discover that the money is missing, his career will be over, and he might even go to prison.
Out of Time is streaming on Prime Video.
1. ‘Love Actually’ (2003)
To close out this month’s list, Prime Video recently added the Christmas rom-com Love Actually, which has so many characters and stories to keep track of that fans have made flow charts. One of the most memorable threads follows a widower, Daniel (Liam Neeson), as he tries to guide his stepson, Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), through the boy’s first experience with romantic feelings towards a girl.
Meanwhile, Jamie (Colin Firth) makes a leap of faith and doesn’t let language get in the way of his feelings for Aurélia (Lúcia Moniz). At the same time, David (Hugh Grant), the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, risks a political scandal by pursuing a relationship with Natalie (Martine McCutcheon), a woman who returns his affections. Not all of these stories have happy endings, but this is a very uplifting film if you believe in love, Christmas and all of the things that make life worth living.
Love Actually is streaming on Prime Video.
