Peacock subscribers, you’re in luck. New movies are just two days away as we cross into February this weekend.

But before a fresh month begins, Peacock has debuted the action thriller Silent Night, which was helmed by one of the best action directors in the world.

It may be a little out of season, but Silent Night is among Watch With Us‘ picks for the three best Peacock movies to binge-watch this weekend.

Our remaining picks include a gripping prison drama and a modern rom-com starring a great screen couple.

‘Silent Night’ (2023)

There’s a difference between a movie set during Christmas and a Christmas-set movie that inspires warm holiday feelings. Silent Night is the former, and definitely not the latter. This action thriller was director John Woo‘s first American film in decades, and he made the choice to film it without any dialogue.

Brian Godlock (Joel Kinnaman) goes quiet early in the film after suffering a bullet wound to his throat and the death of his only son. Brian’s wife, Saya (Catalina Sandino Moreno), tries to keep his spirits up, but all he can think about is getting his revenge on the gang that murdered their child. Once Brian embarks on his mission of retribution, not even Saya can pull him back from the brink.

‘The Shawshank Redemption’ (1994)

For a movie about one man’s harrowing experience behind bars, The Shawshank Redemption is oddly uplifting. This is one of the rare Stephen King movies that has neither horror nor fantastical elements. Instead, writer and director Frank Darabont brings it to life as a top-notch drama.

Tim Robbins stars as Andy Dufresne, a banker who is serving a life sentence in Shawshank State Penitentiary for killing his wife and her lover. Andy’s claims of innocence fall on deaf ears, and his only true friend inside these prison walls is Ellis “Red” Redding (Morgan Freeman). Decades pass as Andy does what he has to do to survive behind bars. But once Andy sets his plan to find some peace and freedom in his new life in motion, it re-contextualizes the film and offers up some hope for this bleak world.

‘Ticket To Paradise’ (2022)

George Clooney and Julia Roberts don’t star in many romantic comedies anymore, but they came out of rom-com retirement for Ticket to Paradise. Clooney and Roberts play David and Georgia Cotton, a couple whose love story ended 20 years ago when they had a bitter divorce. The one thing that keeps them in each other’s lives is their daughter, Lily Cotton (Kaitlyn Dever).

When Lily announces her intention to marry a seaweed farmer, Gede May (Maxime Bouttier), and permanently live with him in Bali, that gives David and Georgia common ground. They plan to sabotage the wedding and convince their daughter not to go through with it. But as David and Georgia spend time together in this island paradise, it reminds them that their feelings for each other never really died. And that may cause complications as they work out their next move.
