Peacock has had a pretty good month for movies so far, but the lineup is starting to get a little thin as January winds down.
Unlike some of its streaming rivals, Peacock doesn’t always have fresh titles to add throughout the month.
What it does have, however, is an eclectic selection that should appeal to comedy lovers, action fans and romance enthusiasts.
You can find Watch With Us‘ selections for the three best Peacock movies to binge-watch this weekend below.
‘The Choice’ (2016)
The Choice is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, so you should know going in that it will pull at the heartstrings with a whiff of tragedy. Benjamin Walker stars as Dr. Travis Shaw, a veterinarian who is instantly smitten with his new neighbor, Gabriela Holland (Teresa Palmer).
Despite Travis’ relationship with his girlfriend, Monica (Alexandra Daddario), and Gabby’s rocky engagement with Dr. Ryan McCarthy (Tom Welling), he and Gabby try to make their romance work. Even if they can, their choices seem doomed to break someone’s heart.
The Choice is streaming on Peacock.
‘Little Giants’ (1994)
Before Rick Moranis jetted out of Hollywood for the better part of three decades, he co-headlined the sports comedy Little Giants opposite Married with Children and Modern Family star Ed O’Neill. Moranis plays Danny O’Shea, the younger brother of Kevin O’Shea (O’Neill), who was a football legend in their hometown. Danny never escaped his brother’s shadow, even though Kevin is now just a pee-wee football coach.
When Kevin refuses to let his niece, Becky O’Shea (Shawna Waldron), play on his team, she encourages her father, Danny, to assemble the rejects and form a pee-wee football team of their own. But under the rules of their football league, there can only be one team representing each town. That leads to a winner-takes-all contest between the two brothers and their respective teams.
Little Giants is streaming on Peacock.
‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ (2023)
Despite not reaching the heights of the original Hunger Games films, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a surprisingly worthy prequel. Rachel Zegler exudes star power and charisma in her leading role as Lucy Gray Baird, a traveling musician who is unwillingly thrust into the Hunger Games to fight for her life. The film utilizes Zegler’s singing talents to great effect, even when her character is fighting for her life.
Tom Blyth also stars in the film as Coriolanus Snow, the future President of Panem. Snow is Lucy Gray’s mentor in the games, and he’s the only one who realizes that she may be able to outlive her fellow contestants. He also feels a very deep attraction to Lucy Gray that makes him risk everything to help her come out on top. But with Casca Highbottom (Peter Dinklage) watching his every move, Snow may only endanger himself and Lucy Gray.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is streaming on Peacock.
