An overdose death at the Miami Ultra Festival has led to the arrests of four people, including a woman who now faces a charge of murder.

An investigation was launched in March 2025 after the Miami Police Department responded to a report of a woman who died at Jackson Memorial Hospital after attending the EDM festival.

The cause of death for the woman, who was later identified as Georgia native Jenniha Le, was determined to be the result of an overdose connected to illegal drugs.

Investigators learned that Le took an MDMA pill, and her health started to deteriorate soon after.

As she started to become unwell, investigators said that Le’s romantic partner, Hannah Le-Nguyen, took her to a health tent at the Ultra Music Festival. She was then taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement later learned that the couple’s close friend, Carmen Lo, connected them to Florida resident Charlene Forti to sell them the party drugs. Forti allegedly sold the MDMA to Li-Nguyen, who later gave the pill to Le.

Investigators also determined amid the investigation that Florida resident An Tan Ly was the one who brought the MDMA to the Ultra Music Festival in the first place.

Ly and Le-Nguyen were arrested in Miami-Dade on Tuesday, March 17, for their connection to Le’s death, according to CBS News. Meanwhile, Forti was arrested in Broward County by BSO deputies.

Ly, Le-Nguyen and Forti were all booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in West Miami-Dade.

Lo was also arrested on March 17 in Atlanta, Georgia, and she was booked into the Fulton County Jail. She is expected to be extradited to Miami-Dade County amid the case.

Forti has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and unlawful use of a two-way communications device. Meanwhile, Lo was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and both Le-Nguyen and Ly were charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Following the arrests, both Le-Nguyen and Ly were given plea deals by prosecutors, according to NBC Miami. They will both receive five years of probation as part of the deals.

Forti’s attorney, Richard Cooper, said the deals were done so that Le-Nguyen and Ly could testify against his client.

“The allegation is that my client gave pills to someone else who gave the pills to someone else, who gave the pills to someone else, and then that person died unfortunately,” Cooper said, per NBC Miami. “Under this law, which is preposterous, but under this law every single one of those people is equally as culpable as my client is alleged to be, and yet those guys got sweetheart deals, they’re out, they’re with their families and my client, a 27-year-old with zero criminal history, is in custody.”

It is not currently clear if Forti or Lo have entered pleas. This investigation into the case remains active.
