As LaBeouf’s romance with Goth continued to heat up, Luxury Handbag Shopping confirmed in March 2016 they were engaged after Goth was photographed wearing a large diamond ring. Several months later, the California native confirmed the pair’s nuptials.

Two years later, the pair went their separate ways and LaBeouf moved on with FKA Twigs. However, LaBeouf and Goth reconciled in March 2020 and later welcomed a daughter.

The couple made headlines after they engaged in a heated argument via an Entertainment Tonight video. In the footage, LaBeouf allegedly told his partner: “I don’t wanna touch you. I don’t wanna be aggressive. This is the kind of s—t that makes a person abusive. … If I’d have stayed there, I would have killed her."

“It's better on the other side,” the Transformers: Dark of the Moon actor told E! News, noting how his perspective on marriage had shifted after tying the knot with Goth. “I've been lied to my whole life. You always hear these people who are all cynical, like, 'Ah, man, once you get married everything changes. But for the better though!”

 At the time, LaBeouf was excited about making new memories as a family, telling the outlet, “I'm about to create some new ones. My mom will be involved, her mom will be involved. I’ll probably have to do Hanukkah and Christmas and Kwanza and the whole nine.”

After LaBeouf’s ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs accused him of abuse and sexual battery, the actor sought treatment. (The songstress filed a lawsuit against her former flame, claiming that he subjected her to “relentless abuse” during their one-year relationship. LaBeouf denied her allegations.)

“Shia needs help and he knows that,” the actor’s attorney, Shawn Holley, told Variety in a statement at the time. “We are actively seeking the kind of meaningful, intensive, long-term inpatient treatment that he desperately needs.”

In response to claims about LaBeouf's departure from Don't Worry Darling, the actor shared emails allegedly between him and director Olivia Wilde. The messages confirmed the birth of his first child.

"I have a little girl, Isabel; she is five months old and just beginning to develop the last half of her laugh; it’s AMAZING," he wrote, according to Variety. "Mia, my wife & I have found each other again & are journeying toward a healthy family with love and mutual respect."

“She saved my f–king life,” the actor said on the “Real Ones with Jon Bernthal” podcast of Goth supporting him when he was in rehab. “She was present for me at a time when I didn’t deserve to have nobody in my life, especially her. She gave me hope when I was really running on fumes.”

He went on to refer to parenthood as the “ultimate parole officer.”

“There’s a lot I need to work on,” LaBeouf explained. “Having a daughter and knowing that your daughter is one day gonna search your name in a search engine and see that you are a deplorable, disgusting piece of s–t, that s–t hits. I have now until she’s literate to create a relationship with her where she knows me more than this idea of who I am in the public.”

Us confirmed that LaBeouf was charged with two counts of simple assault on February 17 following an alleged physical altercation in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Hours later, news broke that LaBeouf and wife Goth had quietly split nearly one year prior. Page Six reported that LeBeouf had moved to New Orleans in the wake of their breakup.
