In April 1961, actress Elizabeth Taylor — who passed away March 23, 2011 at age 79 — posed with her first Best Actress Oscar for her role in BUtterfield 8. She won another in 1966 for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Actress Angelina Jolie, now 35, was still a rising star when she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar (and infamously smooched her brother, James Haven, during the ceremony) for her gritty role in Girl, Interrupted in 1999.

Although they were both married to other people at the time, Taylor and Richard Burton fell in love on the 1962 set of their epic Cleopatra. After divorcing their respective spouses to tabloid uproar, they wed in 1964, divorced in 1974, remarried in 1975 -- and finally split for good in 1976!

Jolie and Brad Pitt met working together in 2004 on Mr. and Mrs. Smith, when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Although the costars never admitted to an affair, Pitt and Aniston separated in January 2005. "Brangelina" stepped out as a couple later that year.
