Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place alum Patrick Muldoon was in a long-term relationship before his death.
Muldoon’s manager confirmed to Variety that the actor had died on April 19, 2026. He reportedly suffered a heart attack.
Muldoon’s sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, told TMZ that he had gone to take a shower after drinking coffee with his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, in their Beverly Hills home. After some time had passed, Rothbart checked on Muldoon and found him unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics were called to revive Muldoon, but it was too late.
Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard Segel, president of global sales and distribution at Muldoon’s company, Storyboard Media, told Luxury Handbag Shopping, “Heaven got another angel far too soon,” calling Muldoon “the most amazing person.”

Miriam Rothbart is an entertainment lawyer turned producer in both film and music. Her credits include the short films Lilith (2013), Only Child (2021) and Hellhole (2021).
“Miriam Rothbart is an entrepreneur with many talents,” her bio for Only Child reads. “She started her career in entertainment law before becoming a prominent music and record producer. She established Rothbart Productions in 2018 and is currently producing numerous film projects in Los Angeles and New York.”
The bio continues, “Aside from that, she is also a member of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, an art museum located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. She founded the Curator’s Council of the ICA LA, a weekly outing of curators and artists.”

Patrick Muldoon’s relationship with Miriam Rothbart came years after his romance with Denise Richards. The pair dated for nearly five years in the late 1990s and remained close friends for years until his death. Richards even sent love to Muldoon and Rothbart via Instagram in December 2025.
“You guys look so cute !!!!❤️,” she commented on a photo of the couple.
During a March 2025 episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, Richards’ daughter Sami Sheen questioned her mom’s friendship with Muldoon.
“He’s very flirty with her, I’m not gonna lie,” Sheen said. “I don’t want to get him in trouble, but I feel like he might still have feelings for my mom. Just an idea.”
Muldoon later shut down the speculation on Tori Spelling’s “MisSpelling” podcast.
