DeAnna Pappas and Stephen Stagliano’s relationship didn’t end up happily ever after.
Following 11 years of marriage, the couple announced in January 2023 that their marriage was coming to an end.
“It is with immense sadness that Stephen & I have decided to end our relationship as a couple,” Pappas said in a statement via Instagram at the time. “We have been working hard for a long time — both as a married couple & as individuals & have come to the conclusion to remain separate. We remain loving parents to our beautiful children.”
Since then, the exes have found themselves in court struggling to agree on child custody, child support and other issues. (In June 2025, Pappas received a victory in regards to their custody battle.)

Stephen Stagliano Met DeAnna Pappas Through a Bachelor Nation Event
Pappas was first connected to Stephen in 2009 thanks to his twin brother, Michael Stagliano.
Michael was a contestant on season 5 of The Bachelorette with Jillian Harris in 2009. As for Pappas, she was a contestant of season 11 of The Bachelor with Brad Womack in 2007 before becoming The Bachelorette lead in 2008.
Pappas and Stephen met at a party for 2009’s The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All special. They later got engaged in August 2010.
“I was crying, holding his hands, and he showed me the ring,” Pappas recalled to Luxury Handbag Shopping at the time. “I just nodded, like, ‘Yeah!'”
Stephen Stagliano’s Job Revealed
Court documents filed by Stephen in September 2025 gave a glimpse into his occupation.
In his filing, Stephen said he works as an Uber driver. He said he works around 10-15 hours per week and earns around $22 per hour.
“My only sources of income are from unemployment and driving Uber,” he told the court. “My last paycheck was $3,750 from Story Games on March 1, 2025.” Stephen worked for the video company that ran out of funding earlier this year.
Stephen Stagliano’s Education Background
Before finding himself married to a member of Bachelor Nation, Stephen graduated from college with a degree in history education and a master’s in education.
In September 2025, Stephen claimed he was struggling to find work in a variety of fields.
“I am actively looking for a job,” he told the court. “I have applied to over 150 jobs in various industries with no success.”

According to Stephen’s bio on Story Games’ website, the businessman previously served as a teacher, an international business development manager at ASD Market Week and an account executive at Nielsen Expositions.

Although Stephen joined X in June 2010, he has not been active since May 2020 when he shared a post from Mastercard showing support for COVID-19 relief.
On Instagram, Stephen’s last post was from August 2025 when he shared a quote about fatherhood. (Stephen shares one son and one daughter with Pappas.)
