Oksana Baiul and Carlo Farina were married 13 years before their divorce — and custody battle over 11-year-old daughter Sophia — made headlines.
Luxury Handbag Shopping exclusively reported on January 5, 2026, that Farina was awarded sole custody of Sophia after he and Baiul told the court they’d reached a custody agreement amid their divorce settlement. He and Sophia were allowed to move to Las Vegas, with Baiul getting a 2020 Mercedes from her ex-husband after she “relocates to Nevada.”
Baiul — who won the Olympic gold medal in figure skating for Ukraine in 1994 — announced her and Farina’s split in summer 2025, though Farina later claimed the pair actually called it quits in 2022.
According to court documents obtained by Us, Farina and Baiul are not required to pay child or spousal support. Farina agreed to forgive $194,000 in loans his business provided to Baiul and the exes will split $108,000 in an investment account.

Farina graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 1999, where he studied international business, haute couture textile and fashion design and fine arts, according to his LinkedIn. He later studied international business and public relations at Rider University.
Carlo Farina Runs His Own Business
Farina owns Carlo J. Farina Co., an “independent, privately held S.F.O. company” founded in 1988, per LinkedIn.
The company focuses on management of oil and gas upstream, the management of “Farina SFO royalty residual and distribution investment asset portfolio” as well as the management of “entertainment assets.” Under his company’s umbrella, Farina also works with live entertainment productions for TV, film, sports and publishing.
Carlo Farina Has a Connection to the Ice Staking World
Farina has been the chief executive officer of the Champions On Ice Tour since June 2020, according to LinkedIn. Once his company purchased the rights to the tour, which features ice skaters doing routines and performances, he announced it would be coming to Las Vegas as a residency. Baiul was the headliner when Farina took over.
Additionally, Farina is listed as one of the writers and producers on the upcoming project, The True Life Story of Sonja Henie, which will shine a light on Norwegian Olympic and World Gold Champion figure skater Sonja Henie and her journey through Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s.
Carlo Farina Worked for Oksana Baiul Before Marriage
Baiul hired Farina in August 2011 to be her personal manager and fight on her behalf against her former talent agency William Morris Endeavor, whom Baiul claimed took advantage of her starting at the age of 16. Farina reported in November 2012 that he discovered accounting discrepancies on WME’s part and collected $9.5 million on her behalf, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Farina and Baiul’s working relationship later turned romantic and they tied the knot in July 2012. The couple welcomed their only child, daughter Sophia, in June 2015.

According to Farina’s Instagram bio he resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, where his company is headquartered.
Us confirmed earlier this month that Farina was awarded primary custody of his and Baiul’s daughter and was allowed to move permanently from Louisiana to Las Vegas.
Baiul has also seemingly relocated to Sin City, according to her social media posts, which regularly feature her skating in Vegas Golden Knights hockey gear and teaching at their facility.
