The first America’s Next Top Model winner, Adrianne Curry, found her match in husband Matthew Rhode.
Curry, who was previously married to The Brady Bunch actor Christopher Knight from 2006 to 2011, started dating Rhode four years later.
“When I walked into Le Pain for lunch, he stood and smiled at me. I knew in that moment that I was in deep s***,” Curry recalled of their first date in a 2020 Instagram post. “I KNEW he was The One. I also knew I wouldn’t ever try again if he wasn’t. We spent almost four hours talking in the most uncomfortable chairs, and I was [loath] for it to ever end.”
She continued, “I’ve seen him every single f***ing day since … [and] Matthew courted me into the next dimension. He held my doors, paid for my meals, walked on the dangerous side of the sidewalk, the list goes on. He was the first man who proved man enough to out-man ME. I was FINALLY paired with a fellow alpha, and he immediately had my respect.”

“The last seven years, I have lived VERY remote,” Curry revealed of their lifestyle in an X post shared in December 2024. “I can go months without hanging [with] anyone other than my husband. My life is lived in the thundering, glorious silence of the wilderness. I get easily overwhelmed in large groups/cities now. It can take days to decompress from the experience.”
Matthew Rhode Stays Off the Grid When It Comes to Technology
Matthew Rhode has also downgraded his technology usage since moving to Montana with Adrianne Curry.
“My hubby left social media for a few [years] and just had a FLIP PHONE,” Curry wrote via Instagram in November 2025. “All his fam started using ME as his secretary because the concept of calling him instead of texting was too foreign a concept!”
That same month, Rhode began streaming video games on Twitch under the username “Ducksauce.”

While Adrianne Curry has enjoyed her remote life with Matthew Rhode, there are a few core aspects of their personalities that help them mesh.
“My hubby and I spend every day together. We joke that we made up for lost time since we work from home,” Curry wrote via Facebook in August 2021. “We are both incredibly strong and independent people who like to be ALONE. Yet, we can’t imagine a life without one another. On paper, Our personalities look like they’d burn each other alive.”
She continued, “I think I needed someone this strong to finally stand against the current of my dominant personality. A little push back awakened something in me I didn’t even know existed. Femininity. This man brings it out of me in ways I never thought I was capable of.”
Curry further revealed that she and Rhode are “equals.”
“I am NOTHING like him, and my strengths are not his,” she said. “Finally accepting the Yin and Yang that is man and woman gave me a peace I never thought I’d know. He is out in the wild training in more survival skills to be a wilderness guide. His intense masculinity lights a [fire] in me that rages unlike any other and brings out an amount of femininity I never thought I possessed.”
