Influencers Matt and Abby Howard have been documenting their lives online for years.
The couple — who exchanged vows in 2019 — rose to internet stardom before welcoming sons Griffin and August in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The pair’s content ranges from the ins and outs of married life to the joys and difficulties of parenthood, sharing videos via TikTok to their combined 5.3 followers and on their “Unplanned Podcast.”
Despite their social media presence, Matt and Abby have parameters when it comes to filming content featuring their family. In 2025, Abby shared that the couple tends to have their evenings designated as “us time,” where they don’t make videos.
“Boundaries means, like, literally no phones,” she said on an episode of the “Jinger and Jeremy” podcast at the time. “We’ll text family members and friends and stuff, like, send a text or FaceTime people when the kids are around, but it’s not like we’re making videos or stuff like that. It’s been really, really refreshing, honestly, because it felt like a lot for a while — social media can feel all consuming if you let it be and it felt good to reclaim some boundaries.”

Matt and Abby Howard Met at a Local Production
The couple met in 2013 when they were in a local St. Louis production of Mary Poppins. While Abby was raised in a small town nearly two hours away from the city, she moved to St. Louis for the summer after landing an ensemble role — and became friendly with Matt.
“I remember thinking you were super cute and all these things,” she said in a May 2020 YouTube video. “I think that my mom had become friends with your mom so I kind of felt like I had an in.”
Matt developed feelings for Abby years later and asked her on a date before his 18th birthday.
Matt and Abby Howard Went to College Together
After doing long-distance in high school, Matt and Abby attended Missouri State University together. The pair got engaged in 2018 after more than two years of dating and tied the knot in 2019.
“July 6, 2019 was the most humbling day of my life to date. A tremendous amount of love was showered on the two of us, and we can’t help feeling a little undeserving,” Abby wrote via Instagram at the time. “We are sincerely grateful to everybody that made this day a dream for us. And most of all, thank you Matt for choosing me. Being your bride is lookin like a pretty sweet gig.”
Matt and Abby Howard Share 2 Sons
The pair welcomed their first child, son Griffin, in 2022. “Our whole world changed July 3, 2022 at 7:43 p.m.,” Abby wrote via Instagram at the time.
Matt and Abby expanded their family with son August in 2023. “August Jacob Howard 08/10/2023 8lbs 14oz 21in,” Abby wrote at the time. “The best little addition that we didn’t know we were ready for.”
Matt and Abby Howard Have Had Raised Some Eyebrows Online
While sharing their lives online, Matt and Abby have been at the center of some criticism and social media debate. In 2024, Abby explained that the couple were on a family cruise with their two kids when they went to dinner as a twosome — while the children were sleeping in the room.
“So we ended up taking them for 5 nights and it became apparent that they weren’t enjoying it and therefore we weren’t either,” Abby wrote in an Instagram Story. “So, THEN we switched our dinner time to AFTER their bedtime and FaceTIMED the monitors while we ate.”
A source went on to tell Luxury Handbag Shopping that their families’“rooms were right next door to each other and they were taking turns being there.” The source shared that the children “were never alone and the use of the baby monitors was an extra precaution.”
Abby Howard Suffered a Pregnancy Loss
In 2025, Abby shared that she was expecting their third baby. One month after the announcement, the pair shared that she suffered a pregnancy loss.
“At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor could not find a heartbeat. Shortly after they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we will never forget, ‘I am so sorry I do not have good news,’” the caption read via Instagram. “That is when we got the gender reveal we never hoped for and also the news that our baby had a genetic condition that took her life around 17 weeks gestation.”
The statement continued, “The news felt unimaginable. The grief is absolutely devastating. But we feel so much gratitude for the time that we did get to have with her. And we still have hope. Hope has continued to show up for us in so many ways. For now we will grieve and continue to think of ways to honor her life offline. Thoughts and prayers are more than welcome. Thank you everyone for celebrating this precious life with us for the past 17 weeks.”
