The White House doesn’t find Joy Behar’s jokes about President Donald Trump to be particularly funny.
“‘Joyless’ Behar is an extremely unlikeable, talentless hack with a poorly rated TV show who clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle shared in a statement to Luxury Handbag Shopping on Wednesday, March 25, referring to the commonly referred faux “illness” Republicans use to describe those critical of the president.
“Operation Epic Fury continues to prove it is a resounding success, which is destroying the rogue Iranian regime’s national security threat to the American people,” Ingle continued.“Iranian retaliatory attacks have declined by 90 percent because the Department of War is destroying Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities.”
Ingle claimed Trump, 79, is “working tirelessly every single day to ensure the American military continues to be the greatest, most powerful fighting force in the world that will crush our enemies and defend our great Nation.” (Entertainment Weekly was first to report the news.)
Earlier in the day, Behar appeared on The View to discuss a variety of Hot Topics, including the reported negotiations between the Trump White House and Iran amid the United States and Israel’s ongoing war in the Middle East.
At one point in the conversation, Behar, 83, asked guest cohost Abby Huntsman to share what Trump’s military actions in Iran have accomplished.
“What’s the gift, besides herpes?” Behar said. “Don’t make it sound like I’m against the military. I’m not. All my uncles, my father, they all fought, so don’t make it sound like that. I’m talking about this particular, as he calls it, excursion into Iran. What have they accomplished so far?”
Huntsman, 39, replied, “We don’t know the intelligence he got was. That’s the problem. They haven’t communicated that.”
Behar quickly added, “The word intelligence and him in the same sentence should not go together.”

Despite the White House claiming the talk show’s ratings are down, a press release from ABC on Friday, March 20, showed that The View continues to rank “No. 1 in households and total viewers among all daytime network talk shows,” including gains in the female demographic.
This also isn’t the first time the White House has gone after Behar and The View.
In August 2025, the White House called both Behar and former cohost Rosie O’Donnell “irrelevant losers” after an unverified report surfaced claiming ABC was “reviewing the liberal bias” on The View.
“The View? Well, that’s a little too much woman — a little too much truth — a little too much Joy Behar saying, ‘I don’t think the insurrection was a tourist visit, Karen,’” O’Donnell, 64, shared in a TikTok video, while supporting her former employer. “Apparently, the truth is dangerous now.”
White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers later released a statement, saying, “Our country is better off with Rosie living abroad — and we can all hope ‘Joyless’ Behar will join her next!”
