Security guard Pascal Duvier publicly apologized for his involvement in Chappell Roan’s viral incident with an 11-year-old fan.
“I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st,” Duvier wrote via Instagram on March 26, 2026. “I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan. The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management or any other individuals.”
Professional soccer player Jorginho claimed earlier in March 2026 that his stepdaughter was harassed by Roan’s team for trying to approach the singer at breakfast in the hotel where both individuals were staying in Brazil. (Jorginho’s wife, Catherine Harding, previously welcomed daughter Ada with ex Jude Law in 2015.)
“I made a judgment call based on information we obtained from the hotel, events I had witnessed in the days prior and the heightened overall security risk of our location,” Duvier added in his apology. “My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions, and the outcome of the encounter is regretful.”
As for Roan, the pop star denied that Duvier worked for her nor did any fan attempt to approach her.
“No one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel,” Roan said in a March 22, 2026 statement. “They weren’t doing anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe because there’s no action even taken, like, that’s so not what I stand behind.”

Jorghino Frello Says Matter With Pascal Duvier Is ‘Closed’
In an April 2026 update, Jorghino Frello declared that the “matter” with Pascal Duvier was “closed.”
“I want to update you all on what happened during the Lolla weekend,” Frello wrote via his Instagram Story. “Over the past few weeks, a lot has been said, and now that new information has come to light, I felt it was important to set the record straight.”
Frello continued, “I issued my initial statement in the heat of the moment, after learning that my daughter and my wife had been approached in an intimidating manner by a security guard. I reacted the way any father would. My priority is, and always will be, protecting my family — and that is exactly what I did.”
Frello reiterated that the incident happened “exactly as it was originally described,” but there was a “misunderstanding” about Roan’s involvement.
“It became clear that she had no knowledge of what took place at breakfast and that she had not asked anyone to approach them. She demonstrated understanding and solidarity regarding what happened to our daughter,” he noted, adding that it was “clear [Duvier] was not acting on Chappell’s behalf.”
“Ultimately, it was a misunderstanding in this regard, and I am happy to set the record straight. It is important to me that this matter be clarified in a fair and accurate manner,” the athlete continued. “I regret the impact this situation has had on Chappell Roan, Catherine, Ada, and our family. What I will always stand up for is my family. However, I also know how to acknowledge when things were not exactly as they appeared at first glance.”
Frello concluded, “Thank you for the solidarity we have received during this sensitive time. I do, however, want to make one thing very clear: I do not condone hate speech or online attacks from any side. Respect, empathy, and humility are values that I uphold and that I teach my family every day. I consider this matter closed as far as I am concerned.”
