Chrissy Rasmussen’s Hair by Chrissy may have hit your For You Page before a recent scandal, but now it’s what anyone who’s chronically online is talking about.
The viral drama began when TikTok creator @notfamous808 called out Rasmussen for her allegedly not-so-great experience at the salon, which included paying nearly $3,000 for the hairstylist to allegedly touch her hair for 60 seconds.
In the video — which has amassed more than 26.9 million views since being posted earlier this month, the influencer alleged that her final bill totaled more than $4,000.
“Girl. You could’ve gone to Italy for a month for $4k,” one user wrote, while another added, “The thought of spending 4k on a hair service …” A third wrote, “No. If you paid $4,000 you should have been 110 percent satisfied.”

Rasmussen has more than 27 years of experience and owns Habit Salon, which has locations in Arizona and California, and offers services including cuts, extensions and coloring. The hairstylist has more than 1.5 million followers on Instagram, where she shares before-and-after videos of her clients. And who are her clients? What Happened to TikTok Creator @notfamous808 at Hair by Chrissy?
The content creator began chronicling her time at the salon earlier this month, explaining that she wanted to get extensions, color and a cut. @Notfamous808 claimed that Rasmussen was “nowhere to be found” in the salon, and she was instead being helped by more than 10 people.
The influencer pulled out the receipts, literally, sharing a screenshot of the bill she received after the service. Alongside charges for a serum, detangler and more, @Notfamous808 was also billed $2,974 for the “Chrissy service” — which she claimed was “just the price for Chrissy touching your hair.” The alleged receipt totalled $4,216.61.

“It was a little bit disappointing to pay the price that I did for the service,” the influencer said, claiming the experience “did not meet my expectations.”
In a separate TikTok video, @notfamous808 claimed that Rasmussen promised to make the influencer’s hair similar to her inspiration photo — but that the content creator needed to purchase new extensions from the salon. The influencer also alleged that she had “no idea” she bought the products, including shampoo, that were on her receipt.
The influencer went on to claim via TikTok in December 2025 that she had a “bald spot and a sore” on her head after taking off her extensions.
What Has Chrissy Rasmussen Said About the Hair by Chrissy Drama?
Rasmussen has yet to issue a statement regarding the drama. (Luxury Handbag Shopping reached out for comment.) She has, however, seemingly subtly replied to the criticism by sharing a series of videos to her TikTok story. In one clip, Rasmussen stuck her tongue out while working on extensions before walking away and letting an employee finish. “Chrissy doing hair,” the video was captioned.
In another video, Rasmussen cut a client’s hair and captioned the clip, “Chrissy cuts.” A third clip showed Rasmussen curling a piece of hair and smiling for the camera, writing, “She curls.”
@Notfamous808 went on to respond to these videos in a TikTok, admitting that Rasmussen does those services — but said “the problem is she does one curl and walks away.”
Things continued to get messy when Rasmussen shared an image of a T-shirt that read, “Hair in 4k,” noting that “merch [is] coming soon,” per The Cut. @Notfamous808, meanwhile, reacted to the clothing in a TikTok, saying, “That is literally insane. Oh my Gosh, what did I do?” The content creator went on to drop her own merch, which included a sweatshirt with a message that read, “Kindness Is Worth More Than 4K.”
What Have Celebrities Said About the Hair by Chrissy Drama?
Some content creators and celebrities have entered the chat about the Hair by Chrissy drama. Former Bachelorette Katie Thurston, for one, noted that $4,000 for hair “seems like a lot of money to pay” but questioned whether the price was due to inflation.
“I feel some kind of way about the demographic of her customers appearing, at least online, to be really young and maybe being taken advantage of,” Thurston alleged in a TikTok, adding in the caption, “Can we talk about the #hairbychrissy drama? Is $4k too much for hair? Am I just ‘too old’ to understand that this is exactly what people in their 20s are willing to pay?”
