Candace Owens has a lot of thoughts about the late Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk (née Frantzve) — and none of them are good.
“I will tell you my personal opinion and experience with her,” Owens alleged in the debut episode of her Bride of Charlie docuseries released via YouTube in February 2026. “What alarms me about Erika isn’t so much the fact that she lies, which we will prove to you over and over again, but it’s also the fact that I don’t know that she’s aware that she’s lying.”
The multi-part docuseries is set to “look into the life and times” of Erika, according to a press release sent out before the episodes aired.
Owens alleged that Erika is not “simply a grieving widow,” in the wake of her husband’s death.
Charlie was shot and killed in September 2025 during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old. College student Tyler Robinson was arrested and charged for Charlie’s murder. He has yet to enter a plea.
Owens has spoken out in defense of Charlie following his death. The two were longtime friends, who both started their career in politics around the same time. Owens worked as the communications director for Charlie’s Turning Point USA organization from 2017 to 2019.
“There’s not a single person in the world that I would wish that on. Least of all, someone with a heart like Charlie’s,” Owens said of Charlie’s death in a September 2025 YouTube video. “He loved his family. He loved his wife. He loved his country. He didn’t deserve that ending.”

How Did Candace Owens and Erika Kirk Meet?
Candace Owens was working for Turning Point USA when Charlie Kirk met Erika Kirk in September 2018. After Charlie fell in love with Erika, Owens formed “a plan” for them to get married.
“All we have to do is convince her that her last name is terrible,” Owens said in her September 2025 YouTube video. “She’s got to marry you because it’s practical.”
She added, “Our plan worked. We broke Erika down. First came the name shame, then came the wedding, and then came the children. Charlie really, really loved Erika.”

Following Charlie Kirk’s death, Candace Owens started sharing conspiracy theories about his murder on social media. Erika Kirk asked Owens to “stop” in a December 2025 interview.
“That’s all I have to say,” Erika said at the time. “Stop.”

The duo had what Erika Kirk said was “a very productive conversation” in December 2025. “More to come from both of us,” she added, while Candace Owens noted that their chat was a step “in the right direction.”
However, Owens continued to speak out against Erika the following month. In January 2026, Owens leaked apparent audio recorded two weeks after Charlie Kirk’s death. (“The video is real and authenticated,” a spokesperson for Owens told Us at the time.)
Owens pointed out that Erika had “upbeat” demeanor in the audio which was allegedly recorded 12 days after Charlie’s death. “It is the general tone that is off putting,” Owens claimed.
“It’s the laughter that is off putting. Again, we are not even two weeks after watching your husband be assassinated,” Owens said. “We’re talking about numbers and metrics that have been hit.”
Erika could be heard praising the Turning Point USA team members who worked on Charlie’s memorial, discussing how they worked 20-hour days and experienced sleepless nights “during the time of us grieving the loss of my husband.”
According to Owens, moved “pretty quickly to the acceptance phase” after the death of her husband.
“We know everybody grieves differently,” Owens added. “In my imagination, I just thought she would be more upset.”
What Is Candace Owens’ ‘The Bride of Charlie’ Series?
Weeks after Candace Owens released the alleged audio footage, she premiered the Bride of Charlie docuseries, which made several claims against Erika Kirk.
Owens alleged that Erika lied about being raised by a single mother, Lori Frantzve. She claimed that Erika’s father, Kent Frantzve, was in the picture and even had a role as a stay-at-home dad.
“I have spoken to classmates, past boyfriends and people are generally bewildered about why Erika is now representing that she does not have a relationship with Kent,” Owens claimed.
Candace Owens Slams Erika Kirk for Pulling Out of JD Vance Event
In April 2026, Candace Owens was quick to criticize Erika Kirk after she canceled her appearance at the University of Georgia with Vice President JD Vance due to alleged security threats.
“Stop. This is exhausting. You pulled out because of bad ticket sales,” Owens claimed via X, when responding to Erika’s announcement. “People don’t believe you and don’t line up for you because you struggle to tell the truth about even the most basic facts. Where is the video of Charlie appointing you as CEO weeks before his death?”
She continued, “The Secret Service sits above your security team. Were there actually a viable threat, the Vice President would not have continued the event. Your closest threat is the s*** Public Relations team you hired that continues to operate under the delusion that they are smarter than the public. They aren’t.”
Erika did not immediately respond to Owens’ claims.
