Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence, Luxury Handbag Shopping can confirm.
Burbank Police shared that Kennedy, 32, was arrested on Tuesday, December 10 at about 11:30 p.m. after receiving a call “regarding an argument between a man and a woman.” Law enforcement deemed it to be a “domestic incident,” resulting in Kennedy being taken into custody. (TMZ was first to report the news.)
Kennedy was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and has since posted bail. Charges are still pending.
A witness reportedly saw Kennedy, 32, arguing with a woman and allegedly grabbing her. According to TMZ, officers who responded to the scene did not see any visible injuries. (Luxury Handbag Shopping has reached out for comment.)
The Bravo star and his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, were in attendance at Kathy Hilton’s Christmas party the night of the arrest. It has not been confirmed if she is the woman involved in the incident.
Lewber, 28, started dating Kennedy in 2022, joining him as a cast member on Vanderpump Rules. Earlier this year, Lewber addressed rumors that Kennedy was physically abusive during their relationship.
Fellow VPR cast member Scheana Shay brought up a December 2023 comment made by Teddi Mellencamp after she and Tamra Judge shared a car with the couple.
“I think it was two years ago now [after the MTV Movie & TV Awards]. And she said that they were heading to an afterparty at TomTom. And during that car ride there was an altercation between two people in the car, which made her and Teddi have to get out of the car,” Shay said during a February episode her “Scheananigans” podcast. “They had to separate the two individuals in the car. And [they] further suggested that James was involved, and now there’s rumors flying around that Teddi might have hinted at an altercation between you and James.”

Lewber denied the allegations, saying that Kennedy never “physically hurt” or “assaulted” her. (She confirmed that he was “drunk in the back of that car” Mellencamp was referring to.)
“That’s crazy to me that that’s the most asked question [for me]. That makes me really sad, because no, I’m good. That never happened. There was no physical altercation,” she added. “Yes, we were in the car together. I thought we were having fun. We were having fun. But then James and I did get into an argument, but there was no physical assault. I was not bleeding, and they didn’t have to get out of the car and separate us. So that didn’t happen. That’s all I’ll say on that.”
Lewber said their relationship was “good” as Kennedy continues to work on himself. (Kennedy revealed on season 11 of VPR that he was sober after past substance abuse issues.)
“He’s working on himself. I know in the past that he has anger issues. So I get it,” she continued. “But I just want people to know that I’m good and I’m safe and I love him.”
Lewber added, “We would fight when we would drink. I would drink and pick [fights]. When you drink that much and in those environments, it is not great. That’s not who we really are. That’s an example of why he shouldn’t drink.”
