An American hero since 1976! The U.S. Olympic Committee is now willing to change Caitlyn Jenner's name in its medal records following her stunning Vanity Fair cover debut.
"We admire Caitlyn Jenner's courage and wish her all the best," USOC spokesperson Patrick Sandusky tells Luxury Handbag Shopping in a statement.
He adds: "We would happily consider any athlete's request to have his or her personal information updated in our records."
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 65, graced the front of Wheaties boxes everywhere after winning the gold medal for the decathlon at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. In 1986, she was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame.
During Jenner's historic 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer in April, she said that she was going through turmoil while competing in the Olympics. "That's me," she said, pointing to a decathlon photo Sawyer held up. "That's her."
