Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ family is speaking out against Allison Holker after the release of her bombshell memoir about her late husband.

“We, the Boss Family, are completely appalled by the misleading accounts and inconsistencies in Allison’s book,” Boss’ mom, Connie Boss Alexander, shared via Instagram Wednesday, February 12. “As a family we have repeatedly shown compassion toward Allison despite her disrespectful and evasive actions since Stephen’s passing. Her portrayal of Stephen appears to reshape his story into a narrative that aligns with her perspective.”

The family claimed that Holker’s statements and “insensitive opinions about mental health” have added “unnecessary hurt during an already difficult time.”

“Stephen does not deserve this treatment, in life or death, and her accounts cause us to doubt everything she has uttered publicly and privately,” Boss Alexander’s statement continued. “Due to the unproven statements published in Allison’s memoir, we have decided to seek legal counsel to examine this matter. There are a lot of unanswered questions and we want answers.”

The statement was signed by the Boss family and concluded with the hashtags “Stand for Stephen” and “Boss Family United.”

In the post’s caption, Boss Alexander claimed that the family has unsuccessfully tried to make amends with Holker since Boss died by suicide at age 40 in December 2022.

“Over the past two years, we have extended the olive branch countless times and the only time we get acknowledgement is when we address the public,” she wrote. “It is time that we seek a remedy to find closure.”

Boss Alexander thanked fans for supporting her family as they “honor Stephen’s legacy.” She also included a link for a GoFundMe to help aid in potential legal costs.

Producer Andy Lassner, who worked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show alongside Boss, backed his family and reshared the statement via his Instagram Story.

“Sending nothing but love to this wonderful family,” he wrote alongside the post. “It is all so sad.”

Holker and Boss’ family have been at odds over her memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light, which hit shelves earlier this month. In the book, Holker, 37, revealed new and personal details about her late husband’s alleged drug addiction and childhood sexual abuse. The former Dancing With the Stars pro received backlash from several of Boss’ loved ones for sharing the sensitive information.

After Boss’ family spoke out last month, Holker released a statement to address the drama.

“To fans of Stephen and our family and friends, I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people,” Holker wrote in January. “Just like you, I never really knew what happened, and even as I am trying to put the pieces together I will never really know.”

She continued: “I hope that by sharing our full story maybe I can help someone else who might see themselves or a loved one in Stephen. In sharing I hope that maybe they can catch some of the red flags that I missed before it’s too late.”

Boss’ mother and his brother Drè Rose sat down in an interview with CBS Mornings on Tuesday, February 11, to address their worries about what Holker wrote about Boss.

“To use my brother’s name and make it seem like he had this serious addiction problem, this sexual abuse allegation,” Rose said. “That could have been true, but I don’t think that’s the reason why my brother isn’t here today.”

Holker also released a statement in response to the family’s interview.

“Connie has and will continue to be a positive and loving figure in Maddox and Zaia’s lives,” she shared. “From grandparents day at school, to family lunches, ice cream dates and Cameron’s video game meetups with Maddox, we hope to continue these traditions over the years and work together to keep Stephen’s memory alive.”
