Timothée Chalamet revealed the birthday surprise girlfriend Kylie Jenner pulled off for his 30th birthday.
In a teaser clip from his CNN & Variety Town Hall Event, which airs on Saturday, February 21, Chalamet sat down with Matthew McConaughey and revealed he’s watched their movie Interstellar “22 times,” including the “12 times” he saw it in theaters when it premiered in 2014. Jenner, 28, took the hint and planned a birthday surprise surrounding the movie.
McConaughey, 56, then revealed to the crowd, “His girlfriend set him up a screening of it or something for his birthday.”
Chalamet confirmed the news and said, “That is true, man.” (The Dune actor turned 30 on December 27, 2025.)
He then detailed their day together and shared, “This is true for my last birthday. And I was grumpy on the way there, because I didn’t know where she was taking me at.” He added, “It’s my birthday. Why are we driving 30 minutes outside L.A.? I got to the theater. It was Interstellar in IMAX.” After being pleasantly surprised by her plans, Chalamet said he apologized to Jenner.
“I’m sorry I was so grumpy on the drive,” he recalled, noting that he “wasn’t going to bring that up” with the crowd as he and Jenner keep details about their relationship private.
Chalamet kept gushing about the film that he and McConaughey starred in together, saying, “But, listen, man, I love that movie. And I just hope, seeing so many young faces here, I hope it resonates for you guys, too, because I just love that movie.”
Luxury Handbag Shopping confirmed Chalamet and Jenner’s romance in April 2023. They made a public appearance at Beyoncé’s concert in September of that year and were spotted packing on the PDA.
In November 2023, Chalamet supported the Kylie Cosmetics founder at the WSJ. Innovator Awards, but they walked the red carpet separately. She returned the favor later that month by attending a Saturday Night Live afterparty with the actor after he hosted the show.
In January 2024, Chalamet and Jenner were photographed at the Golden Globes and got cozy on camera together. The duo made their red carpet debut together at the 70th David Di Donatello at Cinecitta Studios in Rome in May 2025. At the time, they held hands on the red carpet and leaned against each other while getting their photograph taken.
They again hit the red carpet in matching outfits in December 2025 at the premiere of his latest movie, Marty Supreme. The couple coordinated in bright orange Chrome Hearts looks. Jenner, for her part, looked stunning in a cutout dress with a bra top and open back. Chalamet matched her in a leather suit with a ping pong paddle case slung across his shoulder.
More recently, at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, Chalamet gave Jenner a shout-out while accepting the award for Best Actor for his role in Marty Supreme. “Thank you to my partner of three years,” he gushed. “Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
