Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, on Friday, March 27, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to ESPN.
No details about the cause of the crash or Woods’ condition were immediately available. A picture taken by WPTV at the scene showed the vehicle on its side.
Police said they are investigating, and a county sheriff is scheduled to speak with reporters later in the day.
Luxury Handbag Shopping has reached out to police and Woods’ rep for comment.
Woods, 50, has been working toward a possible return to competitive golf after rupturing an Achilles tendon in March 2025 and undergoing back surgery months later.
The golf superstar previously suffered significant leg injuries in a one-car crash in Southern California in February 2021. He was ultimately able to recover.
“I understand more of the rehab processes because of my past injuries, but this was more painful than anything I have ever experienced,” he told Golf Digest in May 2021 while recovering. “My physical therapy has been keeping me busy. I do my routines every day and am focused on my No. 1 goal right now: walking on my own. Taking it one step at a time.”

After the crash, investigators said there was no reason to believe Woods had been operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Instead, the athlete crashed while driving at an “unsafe speed for road conditions,” according to a police report.
Just days before his latest car accident, Woods suited up for his Jupiter Links Golf Club and played in Los Angeles.
While the five-time Masters champion has been the most dominant figure at Augusta National Golf Club for nearly three decades, questions remained about whether he would compete in the 2026 edition of the tournament after undergoing back surgery in October 2025.
The surgery, which aimed to repair a collapsed lumbar disc, was Woods’ seventh since 2014 and his second in the span of 13 months.
Through all his health setbacks, Woods has never lost his appreciation for the game of golf.
“I love golf,” he told reporters in April 2024 when asked what motivates him to keep going. “I played other sports growing up, but I‘ve just always loved this sport. I love to compete. … I just love doing the work. I love logging the time in. I love preparing, I love competing and I love that feeling when everything’s on fire with a chance to win and you either do or you don’t.”
