New details regarding the recent domestic violence allegations against Taylor Frankie Paul have emerged as the reality TV star fights for custody of her 2-year-old son with ex Dakota Mortensen.
Paul, 31, and Mortensen, 33, appeared virtually in court on Tuesday, April 7, where a guardian spoke as a neutral third party in the best interest of the former couple’s son, Ever. The guardian claimed that, during an altercation in May 2025, Paul shoved Mortensen while he was holding the child. Mortensen allegedly nearly fell over with the child in his arms.
Ever’s guardian expressed concern that Paul “should have the skills” to get out of escalated situations with Mortensen based on a mandatory domestic violence evaluation and parenting classes she was forced to take after she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault following a separate domestic violence incident in February 2023.
The guardian added that Paul’s behavior and actions have made him “nervous,” because she “lacks total self-control” when she gets angry at Mortensen and allegedly “puts the kids at risk.” (In addition to Ever, Taylor is a mom to daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex Tate Paul.)
The guardian also pointed out the “volatility” of Taylor and Mortensen’s relationship, to which the judge agreed.
While Ever’s guardian said he did not believe Taylor ever intentionally directed her anger at her children, Mortensen’s legal team disagreed. They argued that Taylor once allegedly kicked a door down while a minor was sleeping in the room. Additionally, they pointed out that Mortensen was Ever’s primary caregiver while Taylor was out of town working for four months.
Taylor’s team argued that Mortensen knows how to escalate situations with her, claiming that he has used Ever as a “human shield.” Her team also claimed that Dakota knows how to “push buttons.” They argued that Ever is “safe” around Taylor and “thrives” when he is in his mother’s care.
Taylor and Mortensen appeared in court on Tuesday to discuss visitation rights after a judge previously granted Mortensen temporary custody of Ever. Taylor was ultimately granted supervised time with their son for at least six hours per week until a protective hearing on April 30, at which time her parenting restrictions will be reevaluated.
The judge also ruled that the supervised visits should be facilitated by a neutral third party. Other options were discussed, as long as both parties can agree on the person or people present during Taylor’s visits with Ever and the person or people agree to being subjected to the jurisdiction of the court.
Luxury Handbag Shopping confirmed earlier on Tuesday that Taylor filed a temporary protection order against Mortensen. (Mortensen was granted a temporary protective order against Taylor in March when he was given temporary custody of Ever.)
