Sydney Sweeney is pulling out all the thirst traps after calling off her wedding to Jonathan Davino.
Sweeney, 27, was all smiles — and sans engagement ring — in a series of photos snapped on the beach posted via Instagram on Friday, March 28. The Euphoria star donned a pastel-colored Dior dressed and crouched down in the sand for a few snaps. Other images featured Sweeney standing up on the sand — adding a matching bucket hat to her look.
“So gorg,” Sweeney’s onscreen sister Maude Apatow commented, appearing to gas the actress up amid the issues in her relationship with Davino, 41. Her most recent Instagram post comes one day after Sweeney posed in a bikini for a separate series of snaps.
Luxury Handbag Shopping broke the news earlier this week that Sweeney and Davino have called off their wedding amid “major issues” in their relationship. A source told Us that the duo have “not fully split” just yet but “things are not great” between them.
“They aren’t throwing in the towel yet,” the insider added, noting that they are “working on their relationship” but all things wedding planning have come “to a halt.”
Sweeney and Davino got engaged in 2022, four years after they were initially linked.
“They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it,” the source continued. “Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
The insider explained that “a lot of their issues” come from Sweeney’s work schedule.
“She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career,” she same source said. “Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together.”
The insider claimed that there’s “always” tension between Sweeney and Davino when she has to promote a new movie.
“She has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars,” the source continued. “It’s a tough dynamic for Jonathan.”
Their decision to call off the engagement comes one year after Sweeney and Davino “experienced a rough patch” in March 2024, a second insider told Us. Similarly, Sweeney’s “jam-packed filming schedule” caused an issue for Davino at the time.
“That was hard for Jonathan to deal with because he can’t be everywhere with her,” the source explained. “They made some compromises at the time and worked through it.”
