Stephen Belafonte is under speculation from fans of his wife Mel B. The former Spice Girl, 39, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday, Dec. 11, which caused her to miss the Saturday episode of The X Factor. She later returned for the live finale on Sunday, Dec. 14.
During the broadcast, fans noted that the singer, whose full name is Melanie Brown, appeared bruised, with marks and apparent scratches pointed out on her cheek and arms. She was also noticeably not wearing her wedding ring.

Belafonte, 39, took to Twitter the next morning, addressing the claims from fans on the social media site that he beat his wife.
Mel B’s appearance on the Dec. 14 finale of The X Factor was called into question. She seemed bruised and cut and wasn’t wearing her wedding ring.
“Idon’t usually respond to Twitter msgs but I will respond to comments of hitting my wife which I think are quite disgusting un true!” he wrote. “Mel was very ill a bunch of doctors helped her get better if fans can’t just relax B4 being negative they r not real fans of @OfficialMelB.”
