Stefon Diggs’ former personal chef spoke out to address “false” narratives after the NFL star entered his not guilty plea in court.

“I am a professional chef with over 10 years of experience working with public figures and in the sports industry, my reputation and integrity matter deeply to me,” Mila Adams said in a statement shared with TMZ on Friday, February 13, shortly after Diggs, 32, appeared in court.

Diggs denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation and other charges after being accused of assaulting his ex-chef for confronting him about alleged unpaid wages in December 2025.

Adams wanted to set the record straight about claims that she engaged in settlement discussions with the New England Patriots wide receiver, noting that reports with that information are “not true.”

“I have never sought money nor engaged in settlement discussions to settle this matter,” she continued. “Statements suggesting otherwise are harmful and untrue.”

Adams spoke her part after Diggs’ attorney David Meier issued a statement to Luxury Handbag Shopping on Tuesday, February 10, to note that his client “categorically denies these allegations,” calling Adams’ assault claims unsubstantiated and fueled by a financial dispute.

“As a survivor of domestic violence, I take these matters extremely serious[ly] and would never make false claims for personal gain or to damage someone’s reputation,” Adams said.

Adams noted that she “did not seek public attention” and reported her complaint with Diggs “through the proper legal channels.”

“This is an active criminal matter, and I will continue to respect the legal process,” added Adams. “I will not engage in rumors, personal attacks, or respond to misinformation on social media, and I will ask others to refrain from spreading false narratives.”

Looking ahead, “my focus is on healing, my work, and moving forward with integrity,” she wrote in her statement. “I trust the legal process to address the facts, and I hope anyone following this matter will do the same.”

Court records obtained by NBC News stated that Adams told officers she and Diggs first got into their argument about money he allegedly owed her, claiming he “smacked her across the face” and then “tried to choke her using the crook of his elbow around her neck.”

“She said that she did feel like she had trouble breathing and that she felt like she could have blacked out. She said that as she tried to pry his arm away, he tightened his grip,” according to the police report.

The chef began working for Diggs in July of last year and said her employment was supposed to span throughout the NFL season. Diggs signed a three-year contract with the Patriots for $69 million in March 2025.

“We support Stefon,” the team shared in a statement. “We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary.”

His latest court appearance was postponed until after Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8, so Diggs could play in the big game, which the Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks.

Diggs has an upcoming pretrial hearing on April 1.
