SeaWorld Orlando is set to unveil its most ambitious attraction to date: Expedition Odyssey, a state-of-the-art immersive ride and Arctic wildlife experience debuting in Spring 2025.
Blending advanced ride technology, real-world cinematography, and live animal encounters, the attraction promises to deliver what the park calls “the most immersive Arctic experience ever created.”
At the core of Expedition Odyssey is a next-generation motion-based ride system, designed to simulate the fluidity of ocean currents with greater movement range than traditional attractions. The experience takes guests on a high-stakes Arctic journey — gliding through icy landscapes, diving beneath the ocean’s surface, and racing alongside pods of beluga whales and other Arctic wildlife.
What sets the ride apart is its use of exclusive, live-shot footage captured by an award-winning production team using custom-built camera rigs and underwater cinematography. The visual component features real Arctic locations and wildlife — including humpback whales, polar bears, and orcas — shot in their natural habitats.
“This isn’t CGI or animation — every glacier, every wave, every incredible animal interaction is real,” SeaWorld said in a statement.
Following the simulated expedition, guests will transition into a real-world animal encounter, featuring live beluga whales and walruses. SeaWorld will also offer a behind-the-scenes “Beluga Whales Up-Close Tour” for those wanting a deeper dive into marine animal behavior and conservation efforts.

The ride is designed with families in mind, requiring a minimum height of just 39 inches, continuing the park’s tradition of making thrill rides accessible to younger guests.
