Savannah Guthrie and her family left an emotional note while visiting the memorial for their mother, Nancy Guthrie, amid her alleged kidnapping.
“Momma, we miss you so much! Our hearts are broken,” the note read, per NewsNation. “We are standing on ash, on scored earth! But Mom, though we are surrounded by so much darkness and uncertainty, our love burns bright. We love you Mommy. We miss you so much. Our best friend!!”
Savannah, 54, sister Annie Guthrie and Annie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, were spotted at the site outside Nancy’s home in Tucson, Arizona on Monday, March 2. Savannah and Annie’s brother, Camron Guthrie, was not present.
The group carried a bouquet of sunflowers to place at the memorial. At the site, there was a sign that read, “Dear Guthrie family, your neighbors stand with you.”
Savannah later shared a photo of the memorial on her social media alongside an encouraging message.
“We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country 💛,” she wrote via Instagram. “Please don’t stop praying and hoping with us. Bring her home.”
Nancy, 84, was reported missing by her family last month after she did not attend a virtual church service on February 1. She was last seen after attending a dinner with her family the previous day.

Authorities believe that Nancy was abducted from her home in the middle of the night. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI declared Nancy’s house a crime scene while investigators have worked to recover video surveillance and DNA evidence from the property. There have also been multiple alleged ransom notes asking for Bitcoin in exchange for the return of the 84-year-old.
More than one week after news broke of her disappearance, the FBI released images of a potential subject recovered from Nancy’s doorbell security camera the night she went missing.
“New images in the search for Nancy Guthrie,” FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted on February 10. “Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.”
Nancy’s neighbors also provided the authorities with Ring camera footage of several cars leaving the neighborhood on the morning of her disappearance. One vehicle could be seen speeding out of the neighborhood around 2:30 a.m., which is shortly after the time that Nancy is believed to have been abducted.
Savannah later revealed that her family’s reward for Nancy’s return was increased to $1 million. In addition to the family reward, there is a $100,000 reward from the FBI for credible information that may lead to finding Nancy. An additional $100,000 was anonymously donated to the organization 88-CRIME to double the reward.
“Someone knows how to find our mom and bring her home,” Savannah captioned an Instagram video on February 24, adding the phone number for the FBI’s tip line.
