Jersey Shore star Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is officially married after her wedding to fiancé Justin May.
The duo tied the knot on Thursday, December 4, in front of their Jersey Shore castmates at the Park Chateau Estate & Gardens in East Brunswick, New Jersey, as MTV cameras rolled, an insider confirmed to Luxury Handbag Shopping. TMZ was the first to report the news. (Reality TV obsessives will recognize the Park Chateau as the same venue where The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice married husband Luis “Louie” Ruelas in 2022.)
Giancola and May went public with their relationship in November 2021. He ultimately proposed in March 2024, though the couple didn’t share the news until the following month.
“Life update: Fiancé 3.16.24 The easiest question I’ve ever answered … happiest and luckiest girl in the world,” she gushed via Instagram at the time. “I’ll love you forever, and then some 🤍 #Futurewifey #Engaged Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Meanwhile, May wrote in his own Instagram post: “She said yes! Can’t wait to marry my best friend! Love you so much babe! ❤️💍 Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you!”
Later that year, Giancola revealed that she suffered a miscarriage after undergoing in vitro fertilization.
“This has been a very long process, it’s been a lot of shots, it’s been a lot of hormones,” she said during a November 2024 episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. “Just the thought of even being pregnant was such a magical moment for me and just to have that taken away — it’s devastating.”
Giancola shared how May was supporting her during the difficult time.
“He’s so positive and uplifting,” she noted. “He’s so special to me, and I just am so thankful for him. He’s been by my side through this whole thing. I just love him.”
The miscarriage happened shortly before May asked Giancola to marry him.
“I am just, like, in awe,” she said of the proposal during the episode. “I’ve dreamt of this moment my entire life. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”
She added, “Justin coming into my life made my life a million times better. He is just everything I could ever ask for in a man. He’s patient. He’s supportive and I just love and adore him so much.”
In February, Giancola and May announced they were expecting.
“We’ve been keeping a little secret. ✨ Baby May due August 2025 ✨🤰🏻,” the caption of their joint Instagram post read. “After struggling through years of infertility, this is the absolute greatest blessing we could ever possibly ask for!”
She continued, “We are so thrilled to finally be able to share the news of our little miracle with you all! Our hearts have never been so full of love, we can’t wait to meet you baby! 🫶🏼🥹💕.”
In August, Giancola confirmed the arrival of her and May’s baby boy.
“Welcome to the world my rainbow miracle baby 🥹🍼,” she wrote via Instagram. “Vincent Keith May. August 20, 2025.”
Giancola also revealed that she couldn’t stop “crying happy tears” since her son’s birth.
“😭 After this very long journey to get here, words cannot describe how blessed and truly grateful we are,” she gushed. “Forever living in our baby love bubble until further notice 🥹♥️ Thank you God.”
Prior to her marriage to May, Giancola dated her Jersey Shore costar Ronnie Ortiz-Magro on and off from 2009 to 2014. She later moved on with YouTuber Christian Biscardi in 2017; the exes were engaged from 2019 to 2021.
