Ron Livingston is back in one of his most iconic roles, but this time, the printer lives. Office Space made him a reluctant hero of office rebellion and now he’s teaming up with HP to rewrite the ending.

“All these years later, people still come back to that one iconic scene — because we’ve all been there,” Livingston, 58, shared through a rep. So when HP pitched revisiting it, with the twist that they’ve actually solved the pain we’ve all felt in that moment, I knew it would be a lot of fun to shoot.”

The new campaign from HP relives the meltdown, but this time instead of destruction, there’s a solution.

“I thought it was a clever idea,” Livingston added. “You take one of the most famously frustrating scenes in pop culture and make it about progress. And beyond all the humor at the printer’s expense — it’s a nod to the idea that you don’t always have to beat your head against the same wall over and over again. Sometimes there’s just a better way.”
The campaign is more than just a wink to fans; it’s HP’s way of showing how far printing has come.

The Fix: HP All-in Plan

HP All-In Plan, which has been quietly gaining momentum, takes the stress out of printing. It’s an all-inclusive service that includes a printer, automatic ink delivery before you run out, 24/7 expert support, and next-business-day replacement — without any upfront cost. It’s printing without the drama.

“This is about turning pain into progress,” said Anneliese Olson, President of HP Inc. Imaging, Printing, and Solutions. “We listened to customers, asked what needed to change, and built a simpler, smarter print experience around the frustrations they told us they were tired of. At HP, this is how we move forward — by listening, learning, and leveraging our innovation to build solutions that matter.”

For fans of Office Space, it’s a satisfying update to a scene that captured the spirit of workplace rebellion. For everyone else, it’s a reminder that even the most frustrating tech moments can have a happy ending.
