Robert Irwin is always keeping late father, Steve Irwin, in his memory — even on an airplane.

“When the in-flight movie selection is elite,” Robert, 21, captioned an Instagram video on Sunday, June 22. The conservationist filmed himself clicking through the movie selection on an airplane before landing on The Crocodile Hunter: Collision, starring his dad.

Robert smiled as he watched Steve on screen and offered a big thumbs up to his followers before ending the video.

Commenters were quick to share their emotional reaction to the social media post, with some saying they were “crying” over the sweet moment. Robert’s older sister, Bindi Irwin, left a message of her own.

“The best,” she wrote, alongside a hand-raising emoji.

Steve died in September 2006 at age 44 after being injured by a stingray while filming a wildlife documentary in the Great Barrier Reef. After his death, both Robert and Bindi, 26, have continued to honor their father’s legacy.

The siblings and their mother, Terri Irwin, spoke to Luxury Handbag Shopping exclusively about Steve during a joint interview last month.

“I feel like I’ve had so much [love] and now in my life, I have so much love,” Terri, 60, said at the time. “I have my wonderful kids. I’m a grandmother now, and I have such a great team around me.”

Terri and her children were promoting the 2025 Steve Irwin Gala, which is held annually in Brisbane and Las Vegas. (Steve and Terri started the Wildlife Warriors conversation foundation in 2002.)

“We are just everywhere working with like-minded, dedicated people,” she continued. “My life is very full and very rich and every day, I wish Steve was here, but I’m so lucky.”

Robert — who will compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars this fall — shared “love” for his mom before further discussing how Steve’s “legacy” is “still here” after his death.

“I think that’s the thing, it’s a family that we’ve got around the world and so special,” he said. “I think I echo everyone, and we’ve got 500 strong in our team, it’s all thanks to mom keeping that legacy going.”

He continued to praise Terri, adding, “I couldn’t imagine how hard that would’ve been and is every day, but you’re just our pillar of strength through it all. We really, really have it all to thank you for that. So, thank you.”
